No idea why he removed his videos. Maybe he doesn’t want people to study his playstyle. Or maybe he dropped the game, I dunno. Haven’t seen him around in a while.

Hi guys I’m a lurker and I don’t usually record my own matches but I just found out today that someone has uploaded a few of my matches to youtube over the past few months. I use Yoshimitsu and Ibuki. I think these are particularly interesting because this was the 3 months that I played a lot of sfxt online because I was training for the LA 25th anniversary qualifiers and you can see how my points go from 4k in the first video to 15k in the last video but I think how I’ve improved as a player is also apparent. I ended up going 3-2 at the qualifiers. My very first match was on stream and I played terribly and got raped so ya I could link that also but whatever. Also, I play on PC so this is uh whatever patch that is right now (no dlc characters)

Yes, I remember that. Haha, good shit though. It was nice to see another Yoshi with different play style. I was rooting for you lol.
Judging the last video only (since it is more representative of your current skill level), I’d say you need to work on your hit confirms and punishes.
With Yoshi you did a lot of cs.mp xx Gehosen that got blocked and then you were forced to spend a bar. But you could have prevented this with a simple link: cs.mp, s.lp to confirm. You also did a full cross-rush on block but didn’t switch cancel to make it safer. And you missed some big opportunities to punish raw tag properly but I’m gonna guess lag had something to do with that.

My favorite part was 2:15. You first conditioned him with s.mk xx CADC forward and then the next time you did s.mk xx CADC backward and baited a reversal for a juicy whiff punish. That was pretty smart.
I tend to get predictable with my CADCs. I definitely need to mix it up more like you did. CADC forward, backward and charge.
btw if you CADC with cr.mk you’ll be at -3 instead of -4 or something like that. It’s not much but against jab mashers it can be the difference between a successful raw launcher/EX SUS or a fail.

The only thing that bugs me a bit is your usage of meter. Like, often times when your opponent has very low health left you waste 2 bars for Yoshimitsu’s Super instead of just doing a normal BnB that would kill anyway. I guess this isn’t that big of a deal considering how much meter Akuma can build. But it still leaves you meterless on the next round with no possibility to switch or alpha counter for a while. And I think this cost you a lot of matches. Some of your matches shouldn’t go to the 3rd round but you allow your opponent to come back by spending meter when you shouldn’t.
