So how was that PnT tourney? I passed by around 5:30 hoping there was some casuals setup but nothing. Then I left cause I haven’t been playing mvc3, but next level last week got me hype to get back into it. So I picked up a copy again yesterday (after trading it in months ago) and I’m practicing.
Is anyone interested in getting some house crack sessions going for AE/MvC3/MK? PnT is only good for tournies. We need a place for casuals.
Well… there were some very good players there as well little kids using Simple Mode…lol. The brackets were kinda weird and it was very uncomfortable due to there being no chairs. Some of the TVs were laggy too. It was still fun, though.
lol if the no chairs stuff bothers you, why not buy a folding chair and bring it along with you. That’s what I’m doing when I go to the SSFAE tournament.
I didn’t think ahead of time, lol. Besides, I would feel bad being the only one in a chair while everyone else is either standing, or sitting on the floor looking up to the TV.
Sup guys, I live like 10 minutes away from the Central Ave PnT and are friends with the dudes who work there.
I agree that the PnT kinda sucks for fighting games, especially if you use a stick. Can’t stand, and sitting down is awful because the TV’s are too high. The couch setup in the corner sounds cool, but I doubt they would do that. I think it’s more practical if they bought some stands where we can put our arcade sticks on and play standing up.
I’m definitely down to go over there and just play some casuals every weekend or whatever and practice. I didn’t read the entire thread so did you guys actually make a specific day to head over and play?
Nah man we currently do not meet up. Reason why is because we can’t seem to find a place willing to rent out a room for meet ups.
As for the PnT tournaments, I think you guys got to understand that the PnT tourneys, or for that matter any small little tourneys from no name places, is that they are pretty much geared towards just randoms. Remember, these are gaming stores so of course we will see more kids than dedicated competitive gamers. Which is why I guess we really do need to hurry up and see if we can find a place to hold weekly or even monthly sessions.
We don’t need to “rent a room”, we can just head over on Friday’s or Saturday’s during the day and play some matches on the corner TV or something. They have I believe 6-7 TV’s so using 1 TV in the corner wouldn’t be a big issue I would think.
The only thing I mentioned before is someone needs to bring in some sort of stands to place sticks on. lol
Also, if we start heading to PnT, it wouldn’t hurt to throw some money their way, in terms of buying drinks, or maybe a game here and there so we actually provide them something instead of just showing up and using their shit every week. They are really cool guys and I’d much rather spend my money their then GameStop anyway.
We were at PnT last Friday. The people there said we could only play for 15 minutes. Thy kept yelling stuff like you guys need to leave, stuff like that but we just ignored them. I hate playing there because it’s extremely uncomfortable. I can’t complain though because it’s better then nothing!
Yeah we were there last friday and they were being pretty rude. I got there late and everyone who was there before me was stuck playing SSF4 (not AE). I show up and realize that we’re all playing SSF4 and im like, wtf… and it was because we were using an xbox with old firmware and it wouldnt read the AE off of a flashdrive… It was pretty annoying how they treated us when we just asked for a HD with AE or an xbox with updated firmware… And it’s not like people didn’t buy anything either… I know someone bought MK, drinks, whatever. Everyone should get on the FB group and try to get these meetups happening. I was glad to see that people finally came out last friday at PnT but I don’t know what kind of future we have at PnT, or if we can pull off just playing at people’s houses…
Lets get some home sessions started. I posted in the facebook group about tomorrow afternoon. I’d like to have a few people over for some AE/MvC3. I only have one setup (xbox) with an evo monitor but potentially I could turn this into a bigger thing with more setups if there’s enough interest(and help). Let me know if anyone’s down to come to my place tomorrow to kick this off.
Wow, I’m seriously surpised to hear that about PnT. Those guys are extremely cool whenever I’m over there. Do you guys know who was working at the time? I know James (older guy, the owner) and Ray wouldn’t have acted like that.
Does anyone know when that PnT AE tourney is? Maybe I can ask them for some weekly or bi-weekly casuals since I know them. Either way, I’m down to head to someone’s crib and play. Only thing is I can only play on weekends.
