So, anyone found uses for yoga flame outside of bnb combos? Seems like FA break isn’t even worth it, since Sim has better options out of a FA threat than flame. Anyone found uses for EX flame? Why the hell would I ever use hp flame?
i swear to god i touch myself a lil when a sim slides under a fireball, you see ryu, sag, etc down block, realize snipe might be coming, stand block and get hit by df fp

but yea, other then the occasional yomi flame to beat dash up happy players its pretty bad
So meaty flame on wakeup against non-dp characters for blockstun mind games then. Any non-dp characters I shouldn’t try this on? I’m think best mixup would be yoga snipe/slide mixup after flame?
Yeah, but you can use after after a forward throw that gives you time to recover.
I’ve also read in a thread here that HP flame could be used vs Gief at the beginning of a match.

I’m always wandering why Sim cannot connect b.mk to mp/ex flame. It’s just for one frame, so It’s clear that Capcom planned it on purpose.
Hope in SSFIV it will be possible.
b.fp cancels into ex flame. It’s also good after a ground ultra lands.
No. I’ve tried throw + meaty HP flame against all chars. I’ve written some notes somewhere, but I cleary remember that only vs Bison it’s a deal.
All other chars has a move (EX or not) that beat flame (not considering super/ultra).
Can’t Dic just ex headstomp through that?

Sim has an unbockable ultra this could really help him in alot of matchups for sure… its forward throw, jab yoga fireball>fadc (forward)>ultra… the timing isnt as hard as some of the other characters… looks like it could be 2 or 3 frame window. The most important thing is getting the fireball out as soon as possible.
Boy, it looks really weird when you do it. The yoga fire is actually past the other person, then it hits (followed by the ultra).
I don’t really see it as something that awesome though really. Maybe I’m missing something, but it seems like you give up too much for what you get. I’m pretty sure it’s escapable by a lot of the cast too, but I’m not positive.
Edit: So unless I did the setup wrong, it doesn’t really work. It works fine against a CPU target with a reasonably skinny hitbox (IE, Ryu), but it doesn’t really work in match. Not only can you crouch block it, but if you just hold back, you’ll walk back far enough to block the fireball, then ultra.
Plus every cast member I tested this on can punish it on reaction (hi, free ultra).
So again, unless I set this up wrong, this “unblockable” setup is pretty horrible. I guess that’s why they aren’t talking about it in the unblockable thread.
The other day a friend and i were having some games. One game i used rog and he used sim. we went down to the third round where we were both one strong hit away from death. so we were both crouching just waiting for someone to make the first move. so i said whatever and did and ex rush upper and he reacted by throwing out an ex yoga fire. well i got hit by the first hit of the yoga fire (took gray damage) not enough to kill me then my upper hit him killing him and then the second hit of the yoga fire hit me. so i won by hitting him between the two hits of the ex yoga fire.
so my question is how many frames are there between the first and second hit of the ex yoga fire?
Honestly the unblockable is not a good thing, at least not as good at the seth setups and maybe rose’s. Just plain ole not worth it. I’ll keep the two bars thanks

i have to say something since i was playing ssf4 with sim. OMG thank you capcom, guys he is a beast and i probably went 200-2 online in ranked and player matches. I have been kicked out of rooms to having such a long streak and players are getting angry.
Sims drills are just amazing when you can trap an opponent, even shotos and you dont need to turtle as much. I bet Arturo is thinking the same thing,.
