I’ve decided to take Sim seriously. I’m going to make him my alt or maybe my main if all goes well. I currently use Cammy and I hate the E. Honda and Gief matchup. Sagat sucks too IMO.
Dhalsim seems to have a better chance against all 3.
I just want to thank everyone who posts. I just started reading the posts and I’m going to study everything on here as if my life depended on it.
If any sim player on XBL wants some Cammy practice, feel free to add me. I’ll be happy to learn anything you guys can teach me.

I’ve been analyzing videos and spending mad time in training mode trying to refine my game, and one thing I’ve noticed is that c.b-Jab is really the best tool in your arsenal against super up-close combat (which really puts a fork in your option selecting technique).
It comes out a frame quicker than c.b-Short, and has better block advantage / hit advantage than your crouching baby kick.
Also, it links with s.b-Short. And s.b-Short can be cancelled into teleport.
So, if you have the opportunity to land c.b-Jab, then you have a free s.b-Short combo’d on top of it, which is roughly the same damage as a Yoga Fire. And if you need a mid-screen escape plan, (c.b-Jab -> s.b-Short xx teleport) is a seamless blockstring that can get you out of tight spots. You can mix-up with like, (c.b-Jab -> s.b-Short xx Fierce Yoga Fire) – or whatever! – to keep dudes guessing.
I’m definitely gonna try and stop option selecting blindly in favour of patiently waiting through block strings to land a c.b-Jab.

On Arturo’s Japan Q&A thread he said Iyo might be retiring! Any validation or is it jst a rumor? This would be tragic.
I never believe it when good players say they are retiring. How often are they really gone for good?
I play Dhalsim since SF2, but when i tried him on SF4, i was so dissapointed (stupid new drill) and wanted to give up. But after i saw Iyo’s video, he gave me inspiration. So i wish, IYO won’t retire from SF4.

okay. i know that trying to have people block ur fireballs is a pretty big deal for sims keep away game, and i know that if they block the fireball high you can occasionally sneak in a cr.FP. but what if they block it low? i know that jmp.FP works well as an overhead at a distance, the only prob i am having is being able to close the distance quick enough to be within range of it hitting right as the fireball hits too.
obviously if i jumped towards the enemy after throwing the fireball, then im in no position to use the cr.FP should they block high, but then managing to gain distance on the ground can be risky if the opp jumps into you, and it is difficult to get close enough so you can pop out an instant neutral jmp.FP to catch them with the overhead.
i see my opp crouch blocking my fireballs in the corner and i cant get close quick enough to use it to my advantage, and IAT isnt really the safest way to operate either.
any help on use of the yogafire in the above situation would be appreciated.
This is the situation where you can try to short slide to mid screen, throw fierce fire and neutral jump fierce. Should work if your distance is right.
ALSO. Perfect opportunity for KKK IAT to BnB. Watch out for things like EX Headbutts, EX SRKs etc. Also psych them out first with random back teleports. DO NOT BE PREDICTABLE.

This might have been discussed before but i want to ask what’s the difference between punch and kick teleport if there’s any at all ?

Hey guys, I was considering making dhalsim my alt (if not my third main) and is there like a small beginners guide on the proper way to play dhalsim or whatnot?

Basically, the small beginners guide to playing Sim is as follows: don’t let them in.
On the real though, I’m not a proponent of making Dhalsim an alt. I know all of the cast members carry a shitload of complexities, but Dhalsim needs ALOT of time and matchup experience. It’s a little like trying to make C.Viper your alt – shit is no fun.
If you’re set on it, Vaughan and Markham ain’t that far, we can for sure get some practice in!

Although Sagat is my main, I’m pretty sure I’ll take some time learning Dhalsim here and there. yeah I know where your coming from, dhalsim and c.viper (with vega) seems to require alot of time and matchup experience.
Not exactly super far but we can definitely get some matches in 
I already did the challanges for dhalsim but I don’t feel like I’ve learned anything yet :\ I think for now I need to know some basic strats and BnB combos. Nothing serious just yet.
