I started trying to pick up Dhalsim last night. I didn’t win many battles but I had a lot of close ones. I still need to try to be more patient. I did all the trials, except the last hard one. I got sick of whiffing the yoga flame so I jumped right in to champ mode to learn how to fight. I’m still not fully used to having different normals because I’m holding back. It mainly affects me in the air because I apparently tend to hold back in preparation of a block on landing. Yoga Tower is awesome. He’s definitely got potential, and I had fun all night playing him. I can’t wait to spend the morning pouring over the threads in this section!

What is Sim’s fastest footsie out the gate? I usually go down back LK followed by standing back LK then Back MK. Is db lk the fastest?

I realise Sims short game is poor, but I get stuffed so often at close range Im wondering should I be doing something different like db mp or something.

b.lk and lk slide are both three frame startups, his fastest normals outside of stand jab which also has a three frame startup, but rarely sees any use.

If Back LK is three frames, I assume db lk is also three?

What is the best way to approach opponents that crouch and jab every time you go for BnB? Maybe an in air Light kick just to shake them up?

The shoto match up might move down to a 4-6 :frowning: crouch jab. Light punch shoryuken’s

if they just sit and block, don’t teleport without having a fire out.
you don’t need to rely solely on teleports either, use j.hp as an instant overhead mixed up with cr.mp and you have a high low guessing game.

I’ll just put some input here, but an opponent jumping or moving backwards beats fireball IAT mix-up. If you’re ever gonna try to mix-up with that, be sure they aren’t moving backwards cause they will be safe from the fireball and be able to use some sort of anti-air punch or kick that will probably hit you before your fierce hits them. A lot of people probably know this, but I’ll just throw this out :r.

Ya, i’ve seen vids, that guy is SICK! I do 360 but just copped it on PC today. Whatcha know about GGPO?

Does anybody know why when i try to do a reversal teleport to get away from danger, Dhalsim teleports to the same place he was??
I use the kick teleport to get away from my opponent but sometimes he teleports to the same place he was…waht am i doing wrong?

Nothing, teleport works different depeding where are you in the stage.
For exemple, if you’re cornered and try to teleport you’ll be always near your opponent, whatever teleport you use. I think it’s a limitation done by capcom to reduce the Sim’s strength.

But Akuma can teleport across the screen… It aint fair! :rofl:

It might be due to the enemy crossing him up. If he reversals but maybe he did it too late so he ended up doing the forward teleport. And forward KKK is to teleport in front of your opponent, so he ends up in the same spot.

Well, i always try to telepor away when im at midscreen other than that i block or use focus…so i must be doing something wrong cause sometimes i can teleport to the far side of the screen away from my opponent and sometimes i teleport to the same place…:looney: this thing is killing me lol, maybe its a bug? :rolleyes:

@ serpentine, i thought that also, and sometimes that is waht happens but that does not explain why i fail to teleport away when they’re charging lvl 3 FA after trhowing me down…

Most of you probably knew this, but forward-dash ducks under standing Tiger Shots.

Not sure if it is any advantage over the usual slide, but good to know nonetheless.
