That makes a lotta sense, actually.
Ya, I’ve actually landed it once, but I couldn’t tell if it was clean or if he just through something out immediately after the lk and got tagged. So you’re saying throwing out the super in between his two cr.rh kicks works pretty good for you?
For Sim’s IAT, about how high do you go off the ground? I want to know if I am doing it right. I dont 3 punch until I see Sim is actually in the air.
Also, I play a rush down Sim. Anyone else try this or play this way?
I usually try to phase in so that Dhalsim’s centre is around the opp’s head level. Trying to enter it more quickly than that gets me a ground teleport a little too frequently for comfort.
And no, although I’d love to see that. I think with drills being less dangerous, Dhalsim’s rush-down game has suffered a lot. But if it’s working for you, that’s pretty awesome.
Yea, no drill hurts But its pretty fun.
Edma’s ken today at AI made me want to quit dhalsim, srsly =(
so like
i hit blanka out of his ultra with short air drill =/
like it just poked him out of it while with ultra was in the “charge” part.
like i said poked him out. not traded
ima do a shit ton of testing tonight
hopefully i figure something out. something to them drills more usable
Wow. When you say charge part, do you mean the bit where he can hold down PPP to stay in place? To me it just seems drill get beaten out of everything. I only use it for tick throwing (and not very good tick throwing) or to avoid fireballs. Are you gonna try it with all three drills? The Fierce might have different properties than the Light, other than the angle differentce.
Guys I’m having problems with the Ultra combo and Yoga Teleport. I always mix up these two moves, it might be because I play with a 360 Controller for now.
Ultra has these inputs: :qcf: + :qcf: + :3p:
Yoga Teleport has these: :dp: + :3p:
The problem is, since it is possible to shortcut :dp: with :qcf: + :qcf: I always get a Yoga Teleport instead of an Ultra combo. Pretty dangerous in a match.
Any advise on how to avoid this, other then buying a stick? (I’d prefer a stick, but since there are none available to buy…yeah.)
i have the same problem. Capcom dropped the ball configuring the game for the 360 controller. I cannot yoga catastrophe without teleporting to the point where i’m more sucessful teleporting using the ultra input. There isn’t much that can be done without using a different controller.
That sucks man, Dhalsim is unplayable then.
2QCF isn’t a shortcut for the teleport unless you hit the punch buttons while you’re still in the df direction. I’m not sure how difficult it is to be precise with the pad, but the best thing you can do to practice is to go into Training mode, turn on the input display, and try to get a feel for the point at which you’re fully into the forward direction.
Yeah…although the light kick slide may have more range than the super, so it’s all situational i guess.
Generally, as long as you do the right motions for the Ultra (and fast enough) it comes out. You can’t just mash it out like some other characters.
Also, let the thumbpad go back to neutral, works for me (but you gotta do it fast).
My most destructive sequence
lp flame+IAT :3p:+fierce+:l:medkick+medyogiflame knockdown
immediately ultra+IAT:3p:fierce+:l:fierce skullbutt+medpoke+Super
!!EXTREMELY DESTRUCTIVE!!-TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK
THIS IS ALL ASSUMING THE OPPONENT ALLOWS THE INITIAL KNOCKDOWN.
YOU CAN FOCUS ATT+ultra+super for nice damage as well.
Dhalsim has much potential, it’s all about timing.
With practice you begin to play with opponents.
Back to the training room to dance
unless i was low on health and this was the only way to win the match was to risk two setups, i would just go with one guaranteed combo w/ the super.
yea i meant the part were blanka holds 3p to charge. all drills seem to work except the mummy.
still not 100% tho
i need someone to comeover to help me out ugh
Wow cool. Just set the CPU to Playback and it should be fine =P. You can drill out of Akuma’s Ultra as well, pisses them off so much (not sure about Super, but if it works for Ultra why not Super?)
Also, rushdown Sim. Ive been testing a few things and it seems sorta possible. Keep IAT-ing and using the bnb combo, putting in slide-throws as well. I tried it online so I it might not work against a real player, not sure yet. Probably wont unless you mixup the teleports really well or something.
nothing to do with topic but i wnt to buy a arcade stick but is it realy eassier to perform back mk into yoga flame with it or else im spending 80 euro 4 nothing =:
Probably. Everything’s easier with a stick when you get used to it (although that takes a while - expect to have difficulty doing even the most basic of stuff when you start).
You may want to wait, though. Stick prices have seriously exploded lately. I bought the stick I have (a relatively crappy Hori FS3 that I’m thinking about modding) for about $50 CAD when I picked up my PS3. Now, the same stick is going for $100+. It’s all because of SF4, but chances are it’s temporary (at least, I hope so).
