Hello, nice thread! When super came I played a bit of makoto and dudley (they were the reason I looked forward to the game). My makoto sucked and I had a 40%win rate and my dudley based alot on the trail combos which suck. I gave up and switched to balrog but after a while I just felt that I had to switch back to dudley. When u win with rog it just doesnt feel satisfying and maybe because he relies so much on c.jab. The funny thing is that I wanted to main c.viper in vanilla but gave up because my execution sucked and because I found her hard to use. Now Dudley feels very similar but I’m not giving up and after a couple of weeks I feel that dudley is my best char.
I hope you guys win those tournaments! I’m myself planning on participating in a tournament(dreamhack) so I have around 3 months of practicing.

I hate the internet and people in my house using it to watch vids. I missed U2 punishes on the headstomp followup, jab sHK on slide, failed reversals and dropped links, so many dropped links.
On the plus side, I feel like a I learnt a lot from this ass kicking and I am getting better at plinking everything.
Now I just have to master fMK sHK JU on the Player 2 side. I keep messing up the buffer

Playing as Cammy, I noticed her spin knuckle (hcb+P) has a shortcut so you start at down forward. Not sure if I would want this as Dudley, I already get unnecessary ducks and I would not want Cross Countaaaaaah or Suck Swing Blow (heh) to come out unintentionally.

A waste of meter to do just s.HK, ex MGB unless the reversal’s recovery frames are too good. ( chun rose cody reversals for example ).
Quite a lot of Half Circle motions have that short cut, it’d be quicker naming the ones that don’t Fei’s command grab seems to require the full motion, pretty sure Short Swing Blow does, not sure about Cross Counter but I’m pretty positive Machine Gun Blow and Duck can both start DB.

Practiced f. MK > s. HK xx Fierce JU for like 1 hour or hour and a half.
I can do sHK xx JU easy but as soon as I do that fMK, my execution dies. I kept starting at downforward. But as I kept doing it, I started doing it more consistently. I set the dummy to Ken/Ryu jab DP and was practicing that punish so I can commit it to memory. I hope I don’t regress.
When fighting Fei Long, you have to wire yourself to look out for his Chicken Wings and punish it on reaction. Otherwise, you’ll have no chance. I use Stand Fierce (what else?), but there may be other moves that work well too (Stand HK?).
On his wakeup, he has a ton of options, wake up EX Flaming Kick, EX Chicken Wing, Dash Back. If you can safe jump setup him (with EX Jet Upper), do that. Otherwise, just try to clock onto his patterns and react accordingly. If he EX Chicken Wings to fly past you, ensure that you punish with an EX MGB. That should stop him trying to do that again, and should reduce his options that he tries on wakeup.

If you have trouble against chicken wing on mid range, HP/ex JU are your best bets. Lots of people have trouble against wakeup chicken wings but you can easily OS it even without jumping, this one needs more testing but i played yesterday against a pretty good fei long and gave it a shot
c.lk,HK (plinked with MK) If fei long does chicken wing he will get hit by the standing HK and you can even cancel it into ducking, if he gets hit or blocks the target combo will come out so you have a free combo. This one is very easy but ofc you can do a regular OS with the usual c.lk c.lp HK xx whatever.
Also most feilong players tend to abuse focus seeing it´s so godlike so I just use Rolling thunder to negate this excellent tool to them. Remember also that the overhead is punishable on block with c.lp into big damage.
I cant play Dudley if I’m not using my color.

Against Fei Long, I find it’s often a “who flinches first” sort of a battle. A lot of Fei players will happily sit there doing pretty much nothing but movign back and forth, because if you start sticking out pokes, they can Rekka you to punish. When you do nothing, that’s when they’ll look for the Chicken Wing, as they are safe on block and it sets up a guessing game.
