Definitely. I have yet to beat a Honda that actually knew what they were doing. They can rush you down for free and by the time you make a mistake he can get a free hands xx super. It’s a awful, awful match-up.
Vs Honda all you have to do is have a good ear for his headbutts.
His buttsplash and hands are the only problem for dud
I get caught by buttspalsh and thousand hands all the time, it’s so hard to stop and E.Honda has such gdlk normals it’s not even close to being Dudley’s game.
I find myself being able to translate between Dudley, Cody, and Akuma flawlessly, the only time i’ve ever had a problem is i forget im not playing dudley once or twice, but for the most part im able to differentiate between the three of em no problem
Everything Honda has is bad for Dudley. Godlike standing RH, cr. Jab, neutral/jumping Fierce, great damage, HP and headbutt for when you jump in. A good Honda well never throw out random HB’s for you to punish because he doesn’t have to. You can’t focus attack because outside of standing RH range you get head butted and in it you get jab xx hands.
Like a lot of Dudley’s matches, it’s cake once you get in but getting in is the hardest part (obviously, but in this case you’re banking more on your opponent messing up than through solid game play). I honestly feel this one is 7-3.
6:4, Dudley shuts down honda’s standing normals with s.FP (lol like all standing normals) Not about to play theory fighter tho. I dont believe Dudley have any 7:3 match ups besides maybe Dhalsim

Honda can chip you from range with Headbutts but other than that he can’t jump in because st.MK beats everything he has in the air, he can’t walk forward cos st.HP and cr.RH beat all his options at range with no charge.
You need to play LAME against Honda.
Also, don’t forget that while he can do jab xx HP hands for chip, you can also do cr.MP xx LP MGB for chip too. And that you can focus dash his buttslam on the way down into cr.LP > st.HK.
So apparently Lamerboi has a pretty sweet Dudley. I played a 20-ish set with him earlier. For the first 9 it was Dudley mirrors. He took it 6-3. Then he switched to Guile and massacred me and then Boxer…with similar results. Hes a really smart player. Even though the mirrors went down to the wire every game, i felt outplayed by the end of the mirror set. I

is it bad if i don’t use F.MK or C.LK? my style of play doesn’t really call for them…
Im not going to say its bad (even though I think it is) but by not using those you are limiting already limited options.
Dudley is a love hate relationship. I love playing Dudley, he’s fun and all of his combos/moves just look sick. But its so freakin’ hard to win with Duds. Its been said a lot but im gonna say it again. All matches feel like an uphill battle with Dudley. Like pushing a stalled car up a hill. But when you do win there is a such a sense of satisfaction that you just cant get with any other character imo. Makes me want to get a few matches in right now, but I gotta feed the kids.
How do you create a high low mixup without your essential low?

My Dudley’s kinda crappy though, I probably have more luck with Dan than I do with Dudley ATM (I only play Dudley with friends though).
