Missing the point of GGPO/rollback netcode. It doesn’t matter if you have 3/6/9 frames of startup/delay. What matters is that the delay is the same throughout the match. What we don’t want is variable delay based netcode where the game slows down in the middle of a match.
I play against 160/170 ms Koreans on GGPO in KOF98 just fine with any lag. GGPO makes a huge difference when implemented correctly. Start up frames don’t make a difference. In KOF, cl.C/D attacks come out in 2-3 frames.
I understand that talking about the possible changes coming is fine and all but does anyone think the campaign will reach the target donation goal? I honestly hope this succeed and then some (I really want to see Nene get put into the game) and I understand that there is still time for it to reach it but it makes me worried with the way it’s slowly going up. Does anyone else have these kinds of concerns?
Also, I’m hoping to have a response to the questions sometime by the end of the week, hopefully.
Not a bad pick at all, I like his style. I hope this raises interest on the game. I think they will reach their basic goal, but the stretch ones look too far away. The problem of doing a low-res sprite fighting game nowadays I guess.
As for the new designs, I don’t like Kotani that much as a designer, even though he’s a great skilled artist. I like Aja and sort of like Chiriakuta, but I’m not a fan of the other characters.
I think they should’ve made the minimum funding level to get the game higher than 10 bucks tbh. And I think that if GGPO gets promised we’ll see a spike in donations. I’ll probably fund it if GGPO is announced, because hell, 10 bucks.
I’m not really excited for Chen either, but I do hope his inclusion will bring more attention to the game and more importantly the IGG campaign. I really want this funding to go super well. It’s doing alright so far, but it could be doing better.
I’m pretty excited about it, though I get excited about a lot of games, so I guess that doesn’t count for much.
That being said, I plan on dropping at least some money on it, though I don’t see this game taking off in the least, I think it looks fun and is worth the cash.
Oh…if his name is already plastered in the IGG page then I guess it’s okay. Yes, his name is Seon King.
Also, I guess everyone has gotten their answer in regards to GGPO being used. I’ll post his response whenever I get it.
:: UPDATE ::
Okay, here’s the response I got from Seon in regards to the questions:
So with that said, we’ll just have to wait till next week to see who the next commentator is. It’s pretty much decided so we can only hope it’s someone you all want. Again, if you have anymore questions or suggestions you would like to pass off to Seon King, let me know.
GGPO is the first stretch goal, which means the funding needs to be successful for GGPO to stand a chance! Help spread the word to let people know A) The game is awesome B) GGPO WILL happen if they get the money for it.
