I got a question:
For those who have the ability to play right now, how far can you go playing in a 3S sort of style? Largely reactionarily, without FADCs and simple combos with infrequent use of Seiei-Enbu.

not far. 3s yun & yang are not the same as in ae(different game, different engine). You don’t really need seiei-enbu, but you are going to need meter to fadc a lot for mixups and to keep pressure going.
Gotcha. Just wanted to make sure my old school tactics and tricks would/wouldn’t work.
Yun v Yang seems pretty even, it seems like that it’s mainly who is able to knock the other person down first. Yang is pretty similar to his 3s incarnation in terms of gameplan, but with FADC he’s got a lot more options to open people up.
Also, Yang vs Yun in 3s was in Yun’s favor because of Genei jin, not because of a health difference (there was none).
How safe are Yangs rekkas compared to Fei Long?
I’ve read somewhere that:
Jab is safe for two
Strong is safe for two
Fierce is safe for one.
I could be wrong though, since I don’t remember where I read it.
Hello
Light Mantis : -2 +1 // -5 -1 // -8 – First Light Mantis is safe.
Medium Mantis : -4 -1 // -8 -4 // -12 – First is -4, so Ryu can DP.
Hard Mantis : -6 -3 // -10 -6 // -14 – ** First is -6, never use it on guard.**
EX Mantis : -1 +0 // -3 -2 // -8 -1 // -11 -5 // -13 – ** The first is interesting to reset throw / tenshin.**
Always start by the ligh mantis unless you’re sure to hit. Of course you can delay or cancel.
I also believe the match-up is even. it all really comes down to who keeps the momentum. It’s a really one sided match.
Thanks a lot. Man Yang is gonna be so good with pressure.
He’s not doing any crazy ex lunges from full screen, but Yang’s solid. His low forward xx lp rekka is safe on block, comes off a good 6f low poke, etc. Rekkas don’t give the best knockdown Yang has, but 200 damage is 200 damage (I think cr.mk xx lp rekkas is 200; or is it cr.mk xx hp rekkas?).
Being +1 on EX Lunge is so stupid… Capcom doesn’t think… that is definitely unintentional. I don’t care, Yang is my 2nd main. I can’t wait… 3 days and 1 hour.
It’s not like other characters do not have ex moves that leave them safe, close to the opponent, can do good damage if they connect, are ratehr fast and some are invincible.
EX lunge being safe is not the main reason it’s stupid. It’s the fact that it doesn’t require setups in order to be effective. Seriously, half the time you can just throw that thing out and hope for the best because it travels so ridiculously fast.
Either way, Yang doesn’t need full screen moves to apply pressure, he’s got good old frame advantage on his side.
Um, it’s not in stores til the 28th, homie.
Unless it got bumped up and EBG never called me.
-edit- oh look, the DLC is out this week… ok, never mind, I’m an idiot.
Still gonna buy the retail though so I can play it at work.
lol, it’s alright bro. I’m buying both since by SSF4 CD has a lot of cracked and takes a lot time to start up. But it’s all good.
I’m just pissed I have to wait 3 weeks, that’s a hell of a lead time, competitively speaking.
(starts examining the budget…)
I think EX Lunge is -1.
Definitly not. It’s +1. ^^
Yun’s going to be a stupid character, just wait
You understand that Yang is a pretty insane character as well, right? It’s just not as blatant.
