Is Yang u2 mostly used for fireball characters or is it to slow or its not invincible long enough to punish fire balls about mid screen apart i haven’t seen any videos of yang punishing fire balls i’m just wondering?

You can also use U2 on characters that back-dash on wake-up a lot (Chun, Rose, etc). On wake-up, you can do a meaty c.lp OS U2. If they block, you’ll c.lp, s.lk. If they jump, the meaty c.lp will catch them. If they backdash, the U2 will come out and hit them.

Hmmm—as a Chun player I must be mindful of this…But as a soon to be Yang player as well. I think Chun may have a U2 O/S of her own on Yang’s wake up. Just have to wait and hit training mode and find out.

You must poke the shiet out of Gief. Stand HK / Stand MP ( Confirm target ), STand HP. The Palm is extremly useful against gief. Against gief I would take U1, to catch a random Jump and get full damage out ouf it.

Blanka can be tough, even if you can punish rollings ( MK.Dragon / U2 ) Always U2 against blanka !

Sagat is hard to get close to, try to mind a tiger shot to roll under it. Use the Target ( St.MP > B.HP < B.HP ) as a whiff punish to the Sagat’s ST.HK.

Yang is pretty effective in many situations, EX Teleport has hit / projectile invincibility from frame 1 to 13. ( Still throwable, so don’t use ex tp to escape from a Hawk or gief vortex, if you get minded, you’re screwed )

Chun can just do a safe jump j.hp, j.hp+hk to the same effect; she can also do safe jump j.hp, QCB j.hp+hk (hazanshu instead of sweep).

Don’t rekka against Gief unless you hit confirm it.

Yang doesn’t have too many bad matchups. The ones that are not in his favor are probably only 4-6 at worst.

I remember reading somewhere than Yang v Yun is in Yang’s advantage. But shit if I know. I’d also think that Fei-Yang is Fei’s favor.

IDK this but imo I think we are going to be seeing more Yang players in tournaments. because as Kurt says, Yun vs Yang is in Yang’s favor and mostly in 3rds strike:Yun had the upper hand because of Yang Stamina and strength i guess.But in SSF4AE: Yang will overshadow his brother this time imo

you’re gonna see a lot of both but more Yun. the match-up does not seem significantly better in his favor so i would not say it’s a counter pick exactly. i think the problem is people are focused too much on yun and yang and forgetting that there are other good characters in this game they need to worry about as well.
