I’ll try that out.

Alex Valle playing more Yang in here in some areas.
Looks like EX Slashes could be useful against backdashes, Valle caught Makoto out of her FA back dash.
I was there that night, but didn’t play on stream.
I know that there was one other good Yang player there (Ike Takeda) so some of those Yang matches might not be Valle.
Nah, you can do that with normal slashes, too.
So, what are people doing after a throw (forward & back)? hk teleport into jabs? dash into jump? What are the obvious options?
Takeda plays Yang?.. i hope he doesnt drop Guy.
Don’t use HK teleport - it’s a garbage move.
Ultimately, depends on the distance. After forward throw you can walk forward and go for early HK divekicks or J.MK crossups, walk up c.mk or c.lp, meaty palm, divekick whiffs or what have you…I personally like to OS tech with cl.MP against people that I know love to throw me or crouch tech after my divekick lands. Cl.MP will beat their crouch tech and link to c.MK xx Rekkas or s.lp -> Sweep, and I’ll break their throw if they try it.
Back throw is only good for putting someone back into the corner. Don’t use it otherwise. The good thing about it is that it doesn’t put you back to full screen either, only about 2/3 screen. From there you can usually just dash, or LK teleport. By the time you recover from those, your opponent has gotten up.
Forward throw is always better for spacing and keeping momentum going.
I played a little yang over the weekend. Against guiles and chun lis… How the hell am I supposed to get in against them? I tried the usual walk forward block, but I just get out poked.
I know this seems ridiculous, but you can try using palm to build meter until you get two bars, then do a far away HK Rolling Kick > FADC Forward. At the very least it will put you in their face.
All I can say about guile… Outgay his own game.
Against Chun, Yang will have a tough time getting in but once he’s in he has a chance. You need to fight Chun either in her face or just outside of her poke/sweep range while buffering your counters for fireballs. Just don’t try to play footsies with her because Yang has little to no chance of winning that war.
Against Guile, once you get in you should be set. Just back him into the corner one sonic boom at a time. Once he runs out of space, don’t let him escape and it’s yours. I realize that’s easier said than done but that’s the main goal. Oh and limit your dive kicks because that’s usually a free AA for Guile.
I know this has been asked somewhere in here but I’m too lazy to look. What is the timing for rekka x2 fadc? I’m really lost as to when I’m supposed to press mp+mk.
I’m really bad at this, and my problem is doing it too early, you have to wait until the rekka connects before you cancel, which can feel weird considering most other things in the game you FADC you do it quite early.
Of course you could be having different issues.
Yeah…I’m always used to FADCing earlier. So I guess it’s immediately after it connects?
I buffer it. I don’t notice any difficulty whatsoever. But, yeah, you can’t buffer it too early or you may end up FADCing the first slash instead.
which one has longer invincibility frames? weak rolling kick or ex?
lk. ex has next to no invinc frames.
ok thanks
will probably never use ex rolling kicks anymore
Isn’t there different versions of EX roll kick though?
There are, but even so, a point blank EX roll kick can be hit out of by a meaty attack - even though it doesn’t roll at the start.
@Bloodcrave - don’t discount it though, it does have a couple of uses, like running down those whiffed Ultras that go across the screen; I’m sure I’ve seen EX roll kick as anti-air a few times as well, but I’ll be buggered if I can figure out how.
