Yang Everything

^ I heard you can do both, but now that I tried s. lk… it’s so much easier. I THOUGHT c. lk would be better since you’ll be holding down already for the slashes. But no, I was wrong.

how to land uoh -> short -> ex

Unless you’re trying to land it meaty on someone’s wakeup, then it’s all just spacing. While it’s entirely possible to get a uoh link on someone standing, you’re 95%+ of the time going to land it on a crouching target.

While learning, I suppose you can slowly condition yourself to recognize the distance by ‘setting up’ the correct distance via blocked normals. Blocked forward/rh divekick -> blocked s.strong is one. A few jabs set it up also. While useful, you should just try to condition your opp to block low, then walk back and forth a bit and just go for it.

Eventually after some trial and error you’ll know the distance by just looking [and much of the time the spacing is lenient as long as you’re in the general range, though the fatness of the crouching character [[different for most of course]] factors into things a bit].

Does the blocked Divekick -> blocked Strong needs to connect? (you know IF it was a hit) or doesn’t it matter where the Dkick hits? (couldn’t try that setup yet)

you have to memorize the distance, a blocked close mp makes the perfect distance to land that.

i use s.lk, i find it easier.

Thanks a lot, guys. I’m doing the UOH link loads better now.

I love this thread…

About the MP-HP-b.HP link with Alex and other large hitbox characters in the corner, not only can you hit them with a far.mp, but it’s possible to juggle with two jab slashes and normal fierce punch, if you can get the timing. It’s one of yang’s biggest stun comboes, if you can get an ex slash on the mixup after that I’m fairly sure it’s almost full stun.

punch chain into -> jab slash x2 -> s.fierce? That works?

If you’re talking about post corner launch follow ups, then

fierce slash -> jab slash -> fierce >> jab slash x2 -> fierce slash

THAT works?! That thing’s Beefy!!

It’s a reset so er… Yeah…

Huh. Didn’t know that. I’ll have to try it.

Something cool happened with yang’s jumping mk xx mk divekick chain yesterday. The 1st hit got parried(my opponent was mid-air) and the 2nd hit whiffed but it like floated backwards :wtf: .

i think that’s what happens when the divekick part of the chain whiffs, and so your opponent’s sprite pushes against yours (thus the floating backwards).

dunno.

speaking of which, what’s supposed to be yang’s best air-to-air?

I remember someone saying fierce, and fierce works the most for me. So I would probably say fierce.

I have a question. How can you do, after a flip grab a cl.mk? Everytime I am trying it, I get only a far mk. I talked with a friend and he said that only on some characters it works. Is it true? And if yes, on witch chars?

Thank you for your answers :).

Only certain characters… Q, makoto, Chun li mainly. IIRC some characters you ‘can’ do it, but have to walk a step forward for a split second before launching.

yeah, it works on dudley, but you have to step forward, and its really hard. maybe like a 1 frame “link” or something.

afaik it’s roundhouse all the way. Not the show but the kick

dunno if it’s been discussed, but…

is it a good idea to teleport out of the corner when your opponent jumps toward you?

I wouldn’t say so, unless you really predict that jump in. Yang is still vulnerable while he’s phazing out and while he’s coming back in, so it’s not like akumas’ warp. I’d say if you’re stuck in a corner and you see a jump in…try short rolling kick or anti air it with S.RH…
