This is pretty crazy. Didn’t know mantis slashes can be connected twice at the end. The rest of the match was good, but not as impressive as that comeback.

Palm -> HP Slash -> LP Slash. Then you can link HP->LP->Standing HP.

If you’re talking about launch into that 5 hit combo, no. At most you can get like 3? hits. Double launch -> rh, senkyutai, slash x3, slash x2 -> s.fierce, etc

Also, the standing HP in the 5-hit combo can be replaced with any slash (if you want knock down instead of reset), and both versions only work against the following:

Chun
Elena
Alex
Necro
Q
Oro

man… i didn’t realize how physically demanding it was to play Yang. holding down buttons all the time, all those qcf x5 motions per match… it’s worse than playing Alpha 3 Rolento! how do you guys do it?

Playing yang isn’t demanding at all, if you’re talking about the mechanical aspect of it. It’s just a bunch of fireball motions.

c.forward -> palm -> jump chain is a reset in the corner. When you land, you can can mix it up, either high, low, throw, command throw, etc.

yeah, yang isn’t hard execution wise at all, its more about reading your opponents defense and countering accordingly.

In useless news, you can link a far MP off of the MP-HP-back HP chain on Alex and maybe others in the corner.

i think you can do MP,HP b+HP xx Seie Enbu > MP in the corner on some people too.not sure what comes next.

If I hit with a Cl.Mk I just SJ forward HK as soon as possible and on land I have a mixup of Zenpo Tenshin, short x2–EX mantis slash, or just a plane throw. However this is risky if abused and works best on Makoto,chun, and other characters you can launch with a Cl.MK on a Zenpo Tension.

Also another great AA for yang is low forward late in the opponents jump. This works because yang is so close to the ground almost all jump ins whiff. Keep in mind that you only want to use this when the opponent starts their jump from atleast mid range (three character widths).Don’t forget to go into EX manti slashes after the low forward.

Whiffing jumpin’s? Have to try that sometime.

Anybody got tips on how to land UOH, c. lk, ex slashes? It’s the timing between the UOH into c. lk that gets me. I think it’s my spacing or something.

It’s all practice practice practice man. Just play it smooth and get the timing right, remember not to be rigid and do the C. LK too late, do double C. LK before the EX Mantis Slashes.

uoh stuff for pretty much every character has to be meaty OR during the downward falling arc of the UOH. after the apex of yang’s leap if it hits your good to go. thats how all the uoh supers work and chun’s uoh into c.mk xx sa2 works that way too.
its hard to land in match when not in the corner b/c of the spacing being so specific, personally i think meaty is much more consistent unless you just have your opponent way outzoned.

I always though you do a standing lk into Ex Mantis (of course cr. is also possible…even a cr. mk [not sure if it is possible on every char] but it seems like you have the UOH even later for the crouching stuff to connect)
