Yang Everything

i was wondering if any1 has seen the yang tutorial on youtube where it’s in japanese and it goes throught some combo’s

the one who uploaded that has like a tut for every person i think…

yea, its pretty old, but its not a bad, tut, what about it?

what’s that combo at the end of that yang video? i saw the vid awhile ago and i THOUGHT it was just yang confusing Q with his shadows. but does the f. mk connect with the last hit of qcf lk? that’s how Q was hit upwards, right?

Yes, it is just Yang confusing Q. The last QCF+LK knocks Q upwards, and he juggles with F+MK. Then it’s just 3 jab slash -> neutral, standing HP.

The combo works like this:

you get a knockdown, then you do either forward/rh rolling kicks, you recover a little before they wake up, then you go either high or low [high = overhead/hopkicks low = whatever], they get put into hitstun, then the shadows [which are invisible at this point] of the rolling kick pop them up.

It’s kind of fun to do, and you might as well try it since a full seiei enbu combo is shitty damage anyways.

Edit: Also, you can only do certain juggle follow-ups on certain characters, IIRC.

corner neutral slashes def don’t juggle everyone, probably only Q Hugo and Chun, but I haven’t tested that.

I’ve only done the reset on shotos [since they wakeup at a relatively easy time to work with] and on Q [in training mode]. Only worthwhile follow up for the shotos seems to be the one in that RX combo video [which might not even be made by RX, fuck if I know] which goes: [shadows pop them up] launch -> palm -> s.fierce

With Q, that one shown in the yang tutorial is probably the best, 100% bar with the reset… should be thankful Yun can only get around 80% at best :wonder:

What exactly is happening here? Is Yang’s SA2 landing on Ken a frame before Shippu’s hit frame, or is SA2 just cleanly beating it out in invincibility?

IIRC Tenshin Senkyutai is a 1 frame super. So if done at the same time as Shippu, it should beat it out, theoretically.

I don’t have the frame data but I think that’s why.

I always thought it was 2. At least, that’s what the Anniversary Collection guide says.

yea well i thought i’d like to share it to the ppl who never seen this or ppl who want to start using yang

c.lk*2 x ex slashes, I know you hit confirm with the first slash, but any tips on getting the ex slashes to come out on time so they are not blocked, or doing a roll kick by accident.

For fuck’s sake.

I really don’t mean to be rude, but this is the final time, I’m going to say this.

PRACTICE.

C.LK->C.LK->EX Mantis is a COMBO. It WILL NOT fail if you don’t fuck up the input.

There is nothing that anyone can say that will help you physically learn the motion yourself. They do not need to be done super fast, just sit in practice mode and take your time. Figure it out for yourself, it’s just continuous fireball inputs.

You could hold down the short button to prevent a roll kick, while you hit punches to execute EX slashes. But that seems like a lot of more work then it should for just a simple bread and butter.

short short ex slashes is MUCH EASIER in the arcade version. keep this in mind when you still see top japanese players on the easiest version to do it on still mess it up.

don’t be afraid to do one short into it, no it’s not hit confirmable, but you get so much meter normally, its not a big loss.

Yeah.

I’ve just gotten used to doing 2 shorts, myself, but it’s WAY less troublesome just doing 1 into ex. Don’t bother confirming them unless you’re 1) not sure which side you’re on, or 2) use seiei enbu and can’t just throw the meter away [and EVEN THEN, this 2nd thing only applies for very few situations].

If you’re just desperate to do them, then there’s no real trick other than to practice them for a while.

What are the best cues to time continuous jab slashes while in SAIII? I’ve just been trying to learn the timing by my hands alone, I wanna know if anyone has some good cues they use to get jab slashes to connect. Sometimes you can follow the slashes connecting sounds, but when you’re in a noisy environment doesn’t work very well.

Taunt’s hit combos into lots of stuff during SA3. This is too humiliating for some people. The damage for the rest of the combo is upped too, which is sweet.

Divekick, activate SA3, taunt, slash away. Watch person scream.

is there a video anywhere of this?

Of the taunt? It hits most standing people in the corner three times, which is enough to combo to mantis slash for one. It hits Hugo twice midscreen, should be enough. It’s only useful for messing up someone’s parry timing and humiliating them.
