Yang Everything

S.rh is way, way too slow to be an effective anti air from any range. Startup is slow, and retracting a whiff also takes a long time. Might as well try s.forward, that’s a better move to throw out.

Short senkyutai is good against certain characters [definitely not dudley in the vast majority of scenarios], but they have to be relatively close when they jump in. Short senk also has the habit of randomly crossing a person up if they empty jump parry it.

Teleport as a means to escape the corner via an opponents jump in is pretty dangerous. Yang can be hit almost the entire time he teleports [even while invisible, that’s pretty shitty], and when an opponent is jumping that is always a jump in combo at worst. Granted, you can get away with it randomly, but it’s not something that you’d want to do as a staple in your game.

can anyone here do kara Zenpou Tenshin? Is it even worth trying? My execution is bad so I can rarely do it.

i dont even know if yangs c.rh works like yun’s.

i tried kara-ing zenpou tenshin with c. roundhouse, but all i get is a “hoo”; no extra range i think.

I tried it, but I dunno about it. It’s ok, but there’s better ways to land ZT than trying to kara it.

I have another question. How can you do palm into 2 slashes, then reset the slashes, and do another 2 or 3? You have to be in the corner I know that, but I can’t connect the slash after the palm strike.

I hope you understand what I mean, if not, I will try to find a video :D.

KO does it at about 2:20. i just tried it in training mode (against chun) and i got…

palm,

  1. fierce slash xx jab slash…
    a. pause, fierce slash xx jab slash, pause, s. fierce (47)
    b. fierce slash x3 (53)

  2. fierce slash x3 (46)

dunno if it works on anyone other than chun.

EDIT: i probably didn’t answer your question huh. do the fierce slash right after the palm ends, and it should connect. as for the pauses, watch for when yang retracts…a coupla tries’ll give you the timing anyway

What about s.MK lauch, 2 slashes then a long standing FP. Does it only work on some characters?

launch -> fierce slash, jab slash, s.fierce works on everyone. I posted somethin about this a while back, comparing the follow ups.

Launch -> fierce slash, jab slash, s.fierce does more stun but less damage

Launch -> fierce slash x3 does more damage but less stun

Launch -> forward senkyutai I haven’t compared because I didn’t have the game until recently. I think that it does comparable stun to the s.fierce ender, but does less damage than either of them.

Palm -> slash follow up works on only a couple characters. Chun, Q, mak? Necro? Can’t remember

k.o. seems to use. launch, mk roll kick, s.lp whenever he can.

makes sense because you land in a pretty good position and it does decent damage/stun.

Which is AWESOME after a whiffed/blocked dp, sometimes makes a good anti-air as well. If cornered, I like to buffer the standing jab with either palm or fake-palm. If you’re sitting on meter and they parry the palm, you can throw the super and it pretty much stuffs anything. I’ve seen people parry my palm and do nothing while I have SA2 stocked. Sillyness.

Thanks for the info traqueofziche. I tried it out today and it kinda works. Still need much more practice :D. If I connect the slash after the palm, I am mostly too early and I do 3 slashes, and don’t pause after the second one. If do that right I screw it up at the end xD.

What’s the strongest SA3 combo? I’m not talking about the cross-up mixups because they don’t combo.

After catching my opponent, I’m always doing f/m.slash, j.slash, c.lk, repeat and try to end with 3 slashes.

How does Roshi or other SA3 users combo into the kick chain? And is that stronger or just for looks?

or i think if you have them cornered (does this work?),

by intuition, i’d think that that one would do moar than the others, since the kick chain does moar hits in the same (or less) amount of time as slashes and shit. everything basically does 1 pixel (in seiei enbu, at least) after a few hits, right?

end with c.forward xx fierce slashes…?

The only jump cancel Yang has is close forward. Which launches your opponent. So you can’t grab them.

Even putting aside the fact that Zenpou Tenshin is slower than a normal throw, I think your answer is no.

i don’t mean cancelling a move into a superjump…i mean cancelling a super jump into zenpou tenshin, like: f, df, d, db, b, ub + kick or something.

i remember reading somewhere that q can cancel his superjump into c&db, giving him throw invulnerability at the startup? i dunno if it works with yang. can someone clarify how cancelling superjumps into specials affects throwability? if one actually can’t cancel superjumps into specials/supers, then my bad.
