its can only be done on wake up…its where you do a Super Jump then VERY fast you do a command grab and it counts as you in the air so their throws wont hit you either will some of their attacks…its not that good with Yun and Yang its find of usefull though…its best with like makoto and other people…its just as it sounds you do a superjump then very very very quickly you do a command grab this can be done with anyone…it can only be done on wake up
PS yes i know i repeated myself alot that was to make sure you read the whole thing and understood it…and it can only be done on wake up (you waking up)
Okay, another technical question, for anyone who will answer… Does the recovery and distance Yang goes in his EX slashes differnt depding on the strength of the punch buttions used after the intal two for the start up?
i thought the second set of ex mantis was safe too? i guess i was wrong though…anyone needs tips and wants to see them done i can do them on XBL my name is Hurricanekick9…just tell me if you want to see shit
Just picked up 3s again [wasn’t very good to begin with, since my game is marvel] and I’ve picked up yang. He’s pretty fun and seems really effective if you can counter poke with normals/ex slashes, but I still need to learn dive kick patterns [I dive kick with rh, then try to whiff a dive with lk, but it always hits and then I get screwed] and seriously, SERIOUSLY need help with fighting ken.
Also, I entered my first 3s tourney [wasn’t ready, but it was an experience anyway] and had to play Ricky Ortiz my second round. He picked chun and wrecked me. Ouch. :[
Edit: I’ve read/heard that a mp/hp/ex slash [even just the first] is unsafe against a ken with meter + shippu. True?
Err 2nd Edit: Are there any Yang faqs/video links lying about? I’d check the forums more thoroughly, but my net is down at home and I’m on borrowed time at a relatives house. Sorry.
It’d be best just to go through the last 16 pages and practice a hell of a lot. Always use training mode and never get in the habit of playing Arcade mode because it will get you in bad patterns and such.
Ok, I have a better handle on Yang now, and I’m doing ok against Ken [still gay, though] and everyone else. Not saying I’m a top player now, but I’m getting better. =] Now I’m just having a problem with Urien. Almost all of his kick normals seem to have much better priority [jumping RH, cr. Forward, etc.]. I find it to be very difficult to get in, standing fierce punch that I generally try to randomly poke in gets stuffed badly by cr.forward, and my own cr.forward gets stuffed by Urien’s. Ughh. I’ve found that standing shorts are quick enough to stuff the c.forward, but they’re useless by themselves if they actually connect, unless I have meter for an EX. I’m still really shitty on parrying/predicting where to parry, which doesn’t help anything.
Also, I know it’s been discussed that SA II is superior to the others, but in what matchups would SA III be the better choice? I’ve watched a few Boss [sp?] vids, and he picked SA III against a Ken and an Alex. Anyone? o_o
Yang wins vs. Urien, thats all I know. But SA3 is better versus people with no AA, and larger characters like Alex, Urien ect. I don’t think Kens a good matchup for SA3 because he can just shoryu evertime you crossup (thats what you should be doing usually).
I used to think that, but I’ve gotten very good at baiting wake up DP’s by sticking out meaty attacks with just while they wake up. If you time your attacks right they can’t hit you, and will get hit by shadows.
acutally yang vs urien isnt completely in yangs favor. While he can move around urien. Uriens juggles do insane ammounts of damage. yang however doesnt really need to worry about uriens doing midscreens because most of them dont really work on him due to the fact that he wakes up really fast. There are alot of things to the yang vs urien match up ill post up later about.
