I feel the same way man!!
Well, considering the damage nerfs of Yang’s Ultra 2, I spent some time to compare AE damage and 2K12 damage.
It is important to know that U2 was decreased from 440 to 410, but considering damage scale, let’s see the difference.
Mantis FADC U2>398PV (SSFIV AE)
Mantis FADC U2>379PV (AE 2K12)
Next, last hit of non-cinematic Ultra 2, was decreased from 120 to 90PV, so:
st MK U2>302PV (SSFIV AE)
st MK U2>278PV (AE 2K12)
If my reckoning are good, here are the new damage for 2K12…I really think Yang’s damage output was not huge, so I don’t understand those nerfs.
I couldn’t have the new version of Seiei Enbu, because it seems very difficult (because of the hits numbers), but , crouch MP is actually down from 80 to 60PV, and, one second shorter, so I tryied this loop:
st MP (55PV,so almost similar if you consider the one second shorter) - crouch LK, st MP-crouch Lk…
I barely reached 350PV, instead of 470+ on AE version.lol.
So, if you want to be effective with Seieibu on 2K12, you’ll have to use reset OR crouch MP only during loop (I wish you good luck online).
What combo were you using exactly for your Mantis FADC U2 numbers? Because if you tackle normals and hit confirms before (ie. cr.lp, s.lp, cr.mk and cr.lk, cr.lk, cr.lk) it will do a lot less damage than that.
Seiei enbu is hardly used as his, with FADCs being so good to Yang. With his damage being lowered across the board, and seieis effectiveness reduced, it will probably never see the light of day again heh. Though I have to admit that unlikely my previous belief, ~350 damage is kind of the norm for Supers, and you can add the fact that there’s room for reset into ultra for 500/600 damage.
Damage nerfs are going to be negligible.
Lets get this straight…wuts killing Yang is gonna be dive kick nerfs, command throw nerfs, second hit of target combo now unsafe as shit, and that 5 frame stand short. Basically the shit that kills his rushdown and his ability to apply good safe pressure.
HAV we still need to do our long training session.
Oh sorry, in my example I used crouch MK only before mantis fadc U2 because I’ve always thought landing U2 after some light is not profitable.
He suggesting hit confirms, like cr.lp, s.lp, cr.mk xx mp palm FADC U2 (which is impossible in AE, but still).
As far as landing U2 off a light attack, you can land U2 after a cr.lp pretty easily (2f link) to reduce damage scaling and still get full animation.
That combo is very possible in AE.
Hav i watched you repping yang at summer jam, good shit man good shit.
Probably gonna keep yang as a pocket sub for fun. I haven’t touched him as much since the purposed changes. I wanna tray with the new yang, and not with the current one. I’m the kinda guy that likes to build set ups and strats off of what the character i’m playing can do. I hope they do take away some of his nerfs, but that’s just wishful thinking.
How is it still possible? They’ve made U2 slower. So, palm FADC straight to U2 is probably impossible.
Has this been confirmed in the loke-test results yet?
If you replace Ultra 2 by a 7 frames startup normal move like st mk, you are not able to connect it so yeah,it won’t be possible anymore
The loc-tests didn’t show anyone doing it (or even trying, from what I saw). What should be possible is palm FADC s.lp, cl.mk, U2 for (significantly) less damage.
I think someone found that palm FADC U2 was a 2 frame link, and they added three frames to the start-up of U2.
Nothings finalized yet. Maybe they’ll revert some of the changes done as seen in the test locations. We’ll all just have to wait and see.
Yang will still be really good and totally worth playing. People are bitching too much… although the crossup nerf looks pretty extreme.
See i’m holding out to see how bad the nerfs are. I’d rather play and re-learn the new yang the keep using the old yang which will hardly be the same in terms of damage and all his fundamentals in tact. But as the fraud himself mike ross once said, “You can nerf the chara just not the player.” Those who are committed to yang will stick around and still play him, i’ll probably keep him as a pocket sub for some match ups.
with these nerfs yang will be a mid-tier character, while yun and fei will be still S tier, thanks capcom
Agreed.
Hold your breath people, Ojisan who won sbo with yang, may be able to presuade capcom to tone down some of the nerfs. We’ll know tomorrow…
I personally don’t expect any good news about Yang,no nerfs will be reverted.
I feel if Yang doesn’t change,we should consider ourselves happy.
