Dont give up just yet, Im sure a lot of Japanese Top Yang players going to the location tests this weekend and will let their voices heard. Some of the nerfs might not go through.
A lot of this is true, but him losing out on his s.mp, s.hp, b+hp TC and s.lk OS lp rekka in footsies hurts a lot.
I doubt all of these changes will stay, but I suppose I can live with what we got.

This is easily the worst nerfing we’ve seen in the SF4 series. They literally nerfed every single one of Yang’s tools.
Low Short, Stand Short, Dive Kick, TC, Ultras, Senkyutai, Rekka, Palm, Command Grab, Cross-up…
Oh… his dive kick didn’t get a nerf on height restriction… that’s because he already had the highest in the game… they still found a way to nerf the hitbox… which already sucked… and give it more recovery… come on. Yang wasn’t just diving the fuck in on everybody, as it was.
The loss of some grab invinc on the EX Grab is whatever… the range loss is dumb. His range on EX Grab wasn’t broken by any means. It seemed very fair to me.
Amazing reach on cr. MK? Really? I’m sorry… cr. MK has OK reach now… nowhere close to “amazing”.
Yang already did shit damage… nerfing damage is fucking retarded… and the change to Stand Short is HUGE.
Yang, as a character, already didn’t have anything stupidly broken. He had a lot of stuff that, as it is, was just good. You put it all together, and you had a good character. Now you have a bunch of stuff that is just meh… you put it all together, and what do you get?
I honestly don’t think Yang needed to be nerfed at all. I really don’t. But if you’re gonna nerf him, you take one thing, and be done with it. You don’t make every single option less effective.

Yang was nerfed to prevent all Yun players from saying fine Ill just use Yang since you killed Yun.
So in short Yang was fucked cuz of his brother. At least thats what it looks like cuz its not like Yang was overpowering Majors and what not and required this many negative changes.
And they sure as hell didnt do anything to Viper who is better than Yang.

I nearly cry when i saw all those nerf. I was maining Yang, but I find yun more fun so I spend more time on yun. Still, Yang is pretty interesting to use, and with all those heavy nerf, may be we can still use in…IN TRAINING MODE.

our only hope is feedback from the loketests. because if this go through, yang will be no higher than c tier. so i’m gonna head off to church soon and pray that capcom come their fucking senses.
i know i don’t post in this forums, but yang was my secondary. so all i gotta say was that from seeing other chars huge amount of buffs all i was thinking we’d get is damage nerfs across the board, and some slight frame adjustment. instead they destroyed his roll kick. hopefully capcom will do some slight stealth buffs.
btw if yang is like this for when the game comes out, i’ll deal with it and still use him
I’m okay with the nerfs too. He is still solid. He has the close MK still and the mixups and even the meaty palm setups (even if they’re not that tight anymore). I was afraid that they gonna take away the rekka fadc close MK mixups, but those are the same. The standing light kick got hit too… thats a shame. If Yun can have 2 three frame moves, why would you take away one from Yang?
They nerfed the rollkicks. They took out the bullshit, like he could punish neutral jump with them from almost full screen. I did that a lot and i felt dirty after them

Yang was a character that was good at a lot of things, great at very few. I think taking away any ONE of the things he was good at would lower his effectiveness fairly dramatically… and they nerfed EVERYTHING. Shit is a joke.

I wouldn’t attempt to tier a game that hasn’t even gone gold yet… but if you think Yang was A-tier in AE… given some buffs to others, and the significant nerf to Yang… I don’t think C tier is a ridiculous expectation. I don’t know if I agree with it… but I’ve definitely seen more ludicrous shit posted on SRK…
