Yang Changes in 2012?

Better yet, let’s nerf just one of them to oblivion coughyangcough and call them twins fine. How bout that?

can someone make me an avatar saying R.I.P yang?

How final are these changes, and are there possibilities for more changes after the first loc tests?

I’m not ready to pour some alcohol on the ground in memory of this nigga just yet.

Fuck all the Little Jimmy’s that Capcom wants to cater to.

Fuck all y’all.

I know right?! WTF with U1 being nerfed in damage and U2 being mad pretty much useless. A meaty jump in will fuck you up now. It’s ridiculous! All of these nerfs are so stupid!

D tier? lol

Yang’s command grab is still very good. People HAVE to block against Yang. They just have to. EX grab still have 8 frames of throw invincibility, which is way more than Yun now (0 frames), so the range nerf makes sense. 1.19 or whatever it is is still huge range for a throw.

HK roll can still punish projectiles, it’s just not projectile invincible for the first 5 frames. This means you can’t do it on wakeup for a meaty fireball, but it’s still easy to do on reaction for any projectile Yang could punish in AE.

Dive kicks are slightly worse… this makes sense. You guys should have been expecting this. His dive kick didn’t lose any speed or height restriction, though!

What does Yang keep? Jab rekka is still -2, cr.short is still 3 frames, he can still FADC rekkas for insane pressure and didn’t lose any of his meter building during pressure or combos, still has great walk speed, still has an amazing super, still is hard to pin down on wakeup, still has amazing reach on cr.MK, still has mixups with command grab… I don’t really see how Yang’s playstyle changes much at all except for st.LK being 5 frames means some frame traps/punishes will have to be revised a bit. He’ll have a bit harder time with keepaway (palm) and he’ll do a little less damage and stun when he gets in. Otherwise he can pretty much do everything he can do now. (Oh yeah and stand jab still hits crouchers, still +huge on block or hit, can still link to sweep)

I’m just speechless right now guys…i don’t know what to say…it’s just FUCK!

…And now with the 3f slower ultra 2 seems that we won’t be able to use it as an anti air at all(which was bad at the first place but just saying) and probabaly it’s going to get stuffed much easier by jumpins

Apparently “The Twins”= Yang now. I personally hate the classification known as “The Twins” when its just Yun. Jolly good show ppl o_O

Yeah like i said. That ultra is completely useless now. I mean who cried abou u2, seriously? Capcom, what was so overpowering about that ultra? The shit is not even invincible and can get stuffed by a fucking meaty poke and can trade on meaty cross-ups. It really makes me sick to my stomach.

U1 is now looking like the go to Ultra for Yang. U2 lost it’s purpose of punishing fireballs effectively.

Yeah what the hell? Almost everyone in this thread is having a heart attack over the nerfs, and honestly a lot of the nerfs are either whatever or expected.

Yang still has slash pressure, still has a 3 frame normal, still has a real uppercut, still has easy mode ways to land ultra, and while his last slash does less damage overall, now there’s no reason not to use jab slash to get the oki [unless you need to blast them away to build meter with palms].
Still has a command grab [fei longs is even SLOWER, and yet fei long players use it] into whatever combo he wants.
Still has a way [slower now] of building meter relatively safely from full screen. Fierce palm still seems to have the advantage on block.

Stand short at 3 frames was bullshit. We all know this. 5 frames was overkill, I expected 4, but that’s what happened.

The only real concern is how the divekick is going to work on block [which means all your sloppy divekicks won’t get a free pass anymore] and on whiff [2 frames doesn’t seem that much, but it could be a lot], and the crossup. If anything the crossup might just need better timing rather than throwing it out at any time you feel like it [which would affect characters the original crossup didn’t work well on].

Seriously, what the hell?

Edit: you also know that U2 in this current edition is 4-35 frames right? 4 or 7 frames from midscreen doesn’t matter since he has to roll the distance anyway.

Let’s cheer up…We can still combo into ultra 1 from st lp… for shittier damage.Yay

no,

u mad.

typo lol, meant to say made. Yeah i’m mad too lol XD.

Delicious twin tears.

Guess this means I’m going to have to work harder. don’t agree with the changes but I like the character, so i will keep using him. Unfortunately Capcom has now hit my main (Akuma) and my 1A (Yang). Been dabbling in Cody a bit, so i guess I will be using him a little more.

Drat.

Hm, I will keep playing Yang. Although I am saddened by how certain people have responded to these nerfs.

My thing is, I’m not a superstar player. I still have to work for my wins playing against decent players. I don’t necessarily mind puttiing in the work, but what they did to Yang seems just a little extreme. And to think the Fei Long players were complaining yesterday… anyway, let’s hope that with some of the feedback from the location tests that they will nix some of the proposed changes. I’m glad some of the weaker characters are getting some much needed buffs and those should definitely stay.

The thing is, many people seem to have forgotten how, in the past iterations of the game as well, Capcom let the changes be known, saw how the masses responded and didn’t always go through with every tweak they were planning. But probably all Capcom is gonna see is the masses saying how “justified” everything is.

Now all I have to do is wait for an idiot to come say that his feast wouldn’t be complete without some twin tears.
