Yeah… It’s one of the least useful glitches… But it comes up a lot in Exhibition vids.

I should rename this thread : Prozac’s XvsSF shack.

umthrfkr: I play a little bit, still sorta learning, trying to put some of Prozacs encyclopedia to work. Cyclops I must say is dope as hell in this game, I might as well just play random/cyclops. Man you should school me at GTR2, we should have modded Xbrick sticks to use I think…

but anyways you have to work with me here. i dont have the internet. i have to go to a library to post. this means i cant play anyone online . and the library only give you a half an hour. not to long to go into detail like prozac did. that and i come here about once or twice a week.

and to prozac you are aware that your airblade also has startup on it. lots of time for something to get snuck in there. like as sj.jab into kiss. just a thought. as for her anti-air. come on. her s.roundhouse isnt that bad and it pushes her back about a half a screen for safety if its blocked. i know it fucks up jumping sabres and most other shit.

You know he can mix up the timing on that Razor Kick to all hell[Not to mention he has 3 different versions with 3 different startup delays =o ], and that it’ll hurt way more than sj.jab -> kiss if it connects. And you know that Rogue’s s.roundhouse doesn’t have very good priority from a crossup angle of attack.

Not that theory fighter means a whole lot. =)

One of my preferred Rogue combos, in essence, is -

j.dwn.roundhouse / c.roundhouse xx SJ, Air Dash, ad.dwn.roundhouse(OTG) / c.roundhouse xx Super.

The air dash isn’t always neccessary… In general, her Sweep -> Dive Kick OTG, and varied followups, are fun.

infinites:

against all: s.lk,s.mpXXdash

against all: /\j.ad.lk,j.ad.mp,j.ad.hk/

against tall chars: /\j.lk,j.d.hk/

special moves infinites:

w/ sonic boom: s.lk,s.mpXXsonic boom

w/ earthquake: s.lk,s.mpXXearthquake

the key to insane rouge combos is switching all the infinite variations. also, kissing charlie and juggs will be an added bonus for rouge.

Kissing Ryu gives Rogue an interesting tactical application. Her Hadouken is glitchy, and right before it comes out of her hands, it’s hitbox covers the ‘Peak of Normal Jump’ region, about Half Screen away. You can AA in response with it. =o

Particularly silly when you abuse it, because it takes away their ‘Normal Jump Over the FB Spam’ option.

Both the Sonic Boom and Earthquake infinites can be done with ‘just’ the special move, though. [I.E., Up close, Rogue can do Roundhouse SB over and over again]

Also, she has a [ s.jab -> s.short ] bouncing infinite [Juggle during FS]

She’s got one with Dhalsim’s power, but I forget what it is… =/

FSDs are much more versatile than you think, though. :wink:

Rogue is my character of choice in xvsf. Her rush down can be just as fast as storm or magnus. I love abusing her kiss throw though. I will fall down with a jhp(land), lp, kiss throw into corner XX Super. Or i will block while being rushed by gambit or charlie and get a lk or lp XX kiss throw in there.
Not sure if this is already know but here is a FSD combo with rogue i came across:
hk(launch)jlp, d+hk,(land)c.lk, c.mp, s.mk pause for a brief second, super.

Some Rogue Pros and Cons

Pros:

Fairly easy infinites and combos. Dashing short, strong is her basic infinite from which all other kiss steal infinites come from. Just add a roundhouse sonic boom after getting it from Charlie or a short earthquake punch after stealing Juggerbutt. Her j.short, d.roundhouse is a cinch for tall characters, cause of its very easy timing. Her launch combo finished with air qcf+fierce does very good damage. Does like three blocks of energy which is like what her super does. Also if you mess up the buffering on her qcf+fierce and it gets blocked you have the ability to air dash or do a whiff kiss after that. You will then be able to block. People will be expecting you to land unable to block then you hit an air dash and d.roundhouse and fuck them up. Her launch combo finished with fierce followed by a d.roundhouse will fuck with peoples minds pretty good. You can do very good mix ups after that, especially if they are in the corner.

C.strong. This little baby has fucked up more people than I can count. First off it covers a good amount of the screen. It really fucks up dashers a lot. Throw one of these out when the dash from at least a half a screen and they wont know what hit them after you combo or super off it. It will make them think twice about rushing you down. I know it really fucks up wolverines. Wolverine player tend to dash a lot. It simply takes that shit away. There is not much they can do that can get around that. It also stops Wolverines and other air rush bs. Yes it does cross him under leaving the opponent wondering what just happened. Sometimes during a match when I know the opponent is gonna try to rush I just his c.strong and fuck some shit up. It also takes off tick damage when blocked. Pretty fn good for a regular move.

The Kiss Steal. Yes this shit is the shit. Yes you control the game when you kiss steal the right moves from your opponents. Kiss steal Ryu and you get his fireball. Not only does it serve as a regular fireball but it serves as an anti air. Do the regular launch combo with Rogue followed by a fireball and you can do some mind game afterwards. J.d.roundhouse, another kiss steal, sweep into dp+rh cancelled into airdash cancelled into whatever. Whatever you want, the possibilities are endless. Earthquake punch has not only the ability to infin with it in the corner but it will also stop Juggs super. What other regular move can do that in this game? Not many can. Not to mention if you kiss steal while you are in the corner you can combo off it or super them. Who needs damage when you can create yourself afterwards. Not to mention rogue with Raging Demon is too good. The kiss steal also is a life saver some of the time, it can put the momentum back in your favor.

Her Super. This super is pretty powerful. It can take up to four blocks of energy away from your opponent. Then on top of that it gives you their power. This super does have a lot of priority. The only supers that can beat it are projectiles and a couple of other. If you see Mag do his super, do your and see what happens. This shit even beats juggs going head on.

Her Strength and Speed. Come on. Where else are you gonna find someone else this fast and powerful. For a girl he can do some damage and fly around the screen quickly. Her specials, regulars, and supers all have good strength and speed. The last hit of the rush punches takes off at least one block of energy making it a very good air combo ender. She can rush just as fast as Mag or Storm can. Strength and speed are very important factors in this game. She utilizes them both very well.

Grabs. She will win in a grabbing contest. For instance if the opponent does a launching combo and does the usual sj.jab, short, strong, forward, pause a bit then grab. If you grab with him, Rogue will win. She recovers a little quicker from the combo than other characters. I have fucked many a people up with this shit. It fucks up the Sabre combo pretty well. And if you miss the grab, most of the time you will tech out of their grab.

Misc. Pros

J.d.roundhouse. Nuff said. It is essential to her rush down and her whole offence. Very good when your opponent is in the corner. Basically, enter the mind games baby.

S.roundhouse. Very good anti air for a person who doesnt really have an anti air game. If it gets blocked, it pushes you a good distance away from your opponent. If its distanced right it can own jump ins.

The mind games. She can play many mind games cause of her offensive capabilities. She can keep you guessing at any moment making her the shit.

J.fierce. This move also has good priority. Air to air or air to ground.

Cons:

No real anti air. She has a dp move but that sucks ass. It stops nothing at all. And if you do connect it doesnt do that much damage. You must block or rely on s.roundhouse, which doesnt do well against crossovers or Sabres to well. Most of the time if you connect a s.roundhouse on Sabre he will back of a bit. But if you just block it then you might be in a world of hurttin if you dont know what to do, cause hes just gonna keep on jumpin at ya.

C.strong. Yes it is a very good move, but it has a little bit of startup. Not so much to make it a serious con but enough of a con to warn you about it.

Supers. Yeah her super is real good but thats just it. She only has one and can only be done on the ground. No air super for her. No second super like most other characters. Just one super to work with. Not to mention that if you combo into it, it takes damage away from the super. That happens with everyone but it really, really hurts her. You can only do one or two ground hits into super or your damage will get raped. And those one or two hits shouldnt be jabs or shorts. Which is why you are better off doing air combos with her if you do start a combo with jab.

Kiss steal. Again not a very serious con but enough to warn you about. Does no damage and not always good. For instance when playing against Mags. His hyper grab shit leaves you in tons of recovery. Not even worth doing against certain characters unless your can combo off it.

Predictable. She can be a little too predictable if you dont mix it up well with her. You cant keep doing j.d.roundhouses. You will eventually get raped. Back off a bit from those if you like to do that. She has shit she can do.

Conclusion

Overall she has a good ground to ground game. A good air go ground game. A good air to air game. But a somewhat weak ground to air game. Against most jumping Sabres a well positioned s.rh will do but dont let them get to close or it wont work. She is very underrated in my opinion. Most players just look down at her cause they dont like her style. If you do play Rogue she does take a little getting used to at first. She wont be easy to pick up right off the bat. Like anything else she takes time to get used to her and master her. But once you do, you will see why she is top fn tier and owns everyone else.

nice one umthrfkr!!! i think you can remove that “weak ground-to-air game”. Why keep your feet on the ground when you can rush your opponent with air dashes. Her airdash is fast enough like storm. The only problem with her airdash is that you can’t dash down forward like storm and mags.

Priority with Supers is a little tricky though. For example, Raging Demon can outprioritize ‘anything’ provided that you’re close enough[It can even beat Weapon X. Screen pauses, Wolv’s one step away and in a big blur, and bam, owned by RD]. It seems most supers have some degree of very high priority right when they start[I.E., P1 does Headcrush, P2 does Headcrush right before he gets hit, P2 wins]. So I don’t know about Rogue’s super beating out Headcrush… That shit’s pretty powerful… =)

Does anyone know if the combo i posted is known or not? I am not trying to take credit or anything, i was just wondering if it is known yet.

I have always beat but i have also always done it second with about a sweep range distance to get it out before the headcrush beats me. example: its a close game we are down to tick damage and he throws out a headcrush to chip me but i throw out a rogue super as soon as the screen flashes and mine comes out second but barely and wins. im not too sure about it doing head on cause ive never done that or been stupid enough to do that in a real match. i know dahlsims super beats out most other shit also. and i know that rogues kiss steal on him beats his super. some wierd shit there. the kiss steal from dahl is too good. beats out all other shit that is thrown at her. then only thing that might beat is cammy off the wall super. thats another pro for rogue is the dahl kiss steal.

Ok… Scenario… There’s a scrubby sabre at the arcade and he keeps doing j.fierce and j.roundhouse at me, and my Fierce button is broken, omg, what do I do. :confused:

No really… My Ryu j.fierce[Sabre pwnage in a can] wasn’t anywhere to be found, and it was pissing me off
