I didn’t say he was the best. He just feels more fleshed out as a character. He has access to subsystems that would give the rest of the cast more options as well. If he really feels that weak by the time everyone else has been fleshed out a bit more, just fix him. The game is still in the beta stages with no clue as to when it will be finished so they have time to tweak the meter system even further…which they actually did do already if you go back and watch older vids of this game.
If they found a balance somewhere with the meter gain and tweaked the characters to take advantage of it without become insane, I’m sure nobody would mind.
Brazel seems…weird as well. Can’t put my finger on it but it just seems like they put TOO much animation into him.
Hey everyone! I created a Facebook group for this game. It’s open to the public and already has a foundation for people in the US to find out more about this really cool game.
Just saw this. I really don’t know but it think it had something to do with step 5 of Sparkster’s guide. When I first went to that site, I signed up for a email account because that’s what was already highlighted. What I did later on was click on the top option and I filled out all of the fields. It tried to fuck me at one point by saying I tried logging in too many times from this IP so I tethered internet from my phone to spoof a different IP and fuck them back.
After that, the game client allowed me to put my complete password in, letters and all.
Here’s the deal though, Yan was DESIGNED around those sub systems. Other characters were not. Realistically he does not have more options than other characters because his EX moves fill out roles that other characters have that don’t require meter. The only tool Yan has that other characters don’t is offensive cancel roll, which for the meter it requires isn’t even that great of a tool. Other characters have invincible DPs, other characters have super cancels, Yan is not doing anything special or unique, they just slapped a special name on what he does and requires meter for it.
It goes back to my first statement that more mechanics does not mean more complete. I know they COULD give everyone these mechanics if they wanted to, but clearly they don’t want to or they would have done so. There’s nothing wrong with character specific mechanics to make individual characters more unique.
You know, I’m not so sure what they plan to do anymore. At first I thought it was never meant to leave China and we’d just have to leech on it but I notice their chat client has English swear-filters (beyond that weird, overly-sensitive URL detection I was mentioning earlier). They wouldn’t have any need for that if it was only going to be marketed for Chinese audiences.
So maybe they might try to release it globally with translated clients once the game gets to its final build.
That’s the wonders of rollback netcode done right. It seriously puts all of the modern console fighter netcodes to shame. SNK would have done well to team up with Jade Studios for online work of KoF.
You know, there’s something very strange and humorous about fighting CoolB with Cloud and coming to realization that this big soldier man feels like he needs to shoot this 11 year old kid with his minigun or call in an airstrike to put him down…
Hey, I recently got interested in this game. I heard the netcode is really good and plays like KOF so I want to give it a shot. Got to work on getting a beta key though.
