No other games right now. This is our first event so we have to see how it goes. If it goes good then I don’t see why we wouldn’t have more next time. Tekken, Blazblue, SSF4, and maybe a couple other random games.
Because we have 20 ppl on FB that have responded and there is no telling who they are bringing. I also know of about 5 ppl that I haven’t got a hold of yet, in Charlotte, that should make it. There is def 1 in Fayettville but hopefully Jibbo makes it as well.
The venue is moving to a larger place at the end of August and we will have internet so that means we will start streaming matches. Next month will be big, depending on turn out, we will have the rest of the line up of games. This is just a test run so XS can see how they run so the next one will be smooth (I know what’s going on but they never threw a SF tourney before).
Come out and show your support for the scene here. Charlotte has not had a scene in a long time and It’s time we bring it home. :china:
I saw this thread before but didn’t pay it no attention because I didn’t know the tourney was taking place in Charlotte, NC. So if you can, please edit it to include Charlotte, NC so that guys who don’t live too far away from this location will know about it and possibly attend.
Anyways, one of the Charlotte players named Bryan(Chun player) came to the Hickory tournament this past Saturday and told us some of the details. Really cool guy, I’m glad he took his time to come down and play casuals with us as well as letting the guys know about this tournament. I don’t know about the others, but I and possibly my cousin will be there.
And I must say, it’s about time Charlotte had its own tourney. It’s our biggest city and it made no sense that they didn’t have there own tourney while a small city like Hickory could(no offense, HKY is basically my home). So I hope it’s a success.
Yeah, you’re right Rice Eater. For such a small and Hick Town (PUN fully intended) Hickory made a very strong effort in order to put together a monthly tournament for Street Fighter. Esspecially taking into consideration how small the actual player base that I’ve seen in Hickory is for Street Fighter. Surprisingly I haven’t seen a Charlotte tournament ever. Maybe it’s just because I’ve been out of the scene for so long. But it’s great to finally see one come along and hopefully set another great example in conjunction with Lucky’s and Gamecore’s tournaments to level up NORTH CAROLINA and show out of staters how much talent NC has.
By the way Rice Eater, thanks for taking your basketball home when your mom called you in for dinner. Thank god someone had a football laying around. We definitely had great casuals up until 11 that night. I swear, I went around the world like 10 times on you guys. I feel I did well considering I hadn’t played for like two weeks. I’m going to keep using that excuse too man!!! It’s a legitimate excuse.
All in all, I’m just excited that there’s another tournament and I’m hoping that it’ll draw out a larger crowd considering Charlotte’s significantly larger population. Hopefully many diamonds in the rough come out. I’ll see you guys there and thanks a lot to Bryan for giving us a heads up on this XS tournament. Sick ass chun player. Damn Steel and Rice Eater, putting that pressure on me to perform well now, lol! All good. I have a feeling this is a gonna be one hell of a tournament. Any of the guys coming from Hickory that just have 360 sticks can definitely borrow mine if they need it to play there match. Let’s get hype!!!
Steel, you have no idea how much I wanted to stay and play all night with you guys. You already know my situation, no friends to play with so I do everything alone which shows how shitty my game is. Anyways, I stayed 2 and a half hours longer then I planned to, my friends and family were a little upset at me, but it was worth it. Talk with Nunnie or whoever and make the Gamecore Ranbat happen. I’ll be there every week even though I have no chance at the money. I just want to level up and play better players and learn in person.
Sorry for getting off topic but again, thanks for putting this together Tactiks. Maybe it’ll take time, but this could be the premiere tournament for the state of NC in the next year or so.
