Xiaoyu Anti-Air?

I’ve been reading through the posts and the Brady guide as well as been trying myself but I cant seem to find a reliable anti-air for Xiaoyu. Anyone have any good ideas? So far all I’ve got is cr.:hp: but that doesn’t work for all characters and it misses a lot.

Her AAs aren’t too good. However cr.:hk: at the right spacing can be cancelled into AOP > j.:hk: > juggle combo of choice. AOP also lowers her hitbox enough to make a lot of jump ins whiff.

i like :d:+:hk: as in anti-air. cancel it into AOP then jump+hk, land, c.hp cancel into rain dance then :k::k:. does like 352 damage or something.

I’ve been using AOP K as anti-air – it ducks a bunch of stuff and is a free knockdown.

Meterless anti-air punish that does 325 dmg:

Cr hk, cancel to pheonix then jump hk, land and then do standing hp to storming flower (qcf lp).

Make sure you do standing hp and not crouching or else the storming flower will wiff.

cr hk, aop, jump hk, cr hk, qcb lp dash cancel, cr hk qcb dash cancel, st mp, aop, wave crest cross cancel

These are the AA Xiaoyu?

st.LK, cr.HK, cr.HP, L Wave Crest, L and EX Mistrust ???

its gonna be a situation where we just have to learn the spacing of our opponents approaches. c.HK seems to lead to the most damaging followups, but there are many approaches that you will never beat with that move. LK works in some situations, and sometimes you may have to just intercept with with a jumping attack of your own. (which you can sometimes follow up with a ground combo as you land)

Ya that sounds about right. Honestly the best tactic I think to use is just block or backdash since both are fast and effective, especially the backdash. Either that or like @theonejanitor said, intercept with a jump of your own. Back jump hK and forward jump mk seem to be good options.

Yo I was just playing xio against murduck and his jumpin was stuff cr.hk and aop.dp wtf?

What jumpin did he use? I know Marduk’s :mk: is quite powerful in midair and can stuff a lot, but when I versed a few, I never came into a problem that either cr.:hk: timed well or Phoenix Talon couldn’t at least trade.

Try, :hp: for far jumpin and :d: :hp: for close jumpin.

Breakdancing people out of the air is so hilarious

I was playing with this for a few days but it has been extremely unreliable after the jump HK. Even cr. HK isn’t reliable against particularly good jump in attacks… I said it in the other thread but I’ve been using LK phoenix talon with good success.

Marduk’s diagonal J.HP always beats xiaoyu’s cr.HK

How does Phoenix Talon do against him?

It has 5 frames of invincibility on it and a good hurtbox so it probably beats it.

Xiao is pretty much the ultimate antiair punisher if the cr hk doesn’t lose. 400 damage meterless off antiair and it takes like 6 seconds…its so embarassing they’ll never jump again lol

If the breakdance loop doesn’t work, you can always use one bar to do Phoenix Talong, tag cancel into your partner for a good amount of damage as well.
