XCM 360 to PS3 converter REVIEWED!

send the converter to markman for further reviewing! plz

xcm cross battle adapter

Hey guys,

I just received the xcm cross battle adapter myself and put it to the test immediately. I am using a MGS4 Bundle PS3 and a Hori Real Arcade Pro EX stick for the X360. Here are my 1st impressions:

  1. Worked right out of the box. I tested Tekken V DR and I did not notice any lag. So far so good! Should play well with SFIV

  2. DOESNT WORK WITH BC games!!! No Street Fighter Anniversary or Alpha Anthology for me (at least on the PS3)

  3. DOES work with BC games purchased from the Playstation store! Street Fighter Alpha (PSOne) and SSF2THD perform with no noticeable lag.

  4. Does NOT work with MacMAME!!! Real bummer there, I was hoping to use another arcade stick for emulation ( I also own a HRAP3 that does work seamlessly)

It seems apparent that the X360 Madcatz TE stick will not work with BC (PS2) games on the PS3 either after conducting this test. Can’t wait to hear from Markman for the official word.

Thanks for the review Lmatic. We now have two conflicting member reviews. We need a tie-breaker. Looking forward to MarkMan’s review even more than before now.

nice, play more HDR and let us know.

Hmm… I would be cautious about this guy… Registered on 1-11-09 and his first post is today…

Could be PR person in disguised spreading false advertismenet

i know im new to the forum but im here for the same reason everyone else is: SFIV. I do have 360 TE’s on the way and it would be nice to use them on the PS3.

For now, still doing some long term testing w/ the hori pro EX.

Good looking out on the compatibility info, but just playing stuff and anecdotal evidence isn’t enough to test for lag.

I’ve read some reviews on 8wayrun.com from members that own the converter.

Apparently works fine with a 360 pad, but with a stick there is noticeable lag.

have you tried the InputLagTestor ?

Does anyone know about Arcade-in-a-Box’s dual function sticks? Are they any good?

Sounds about right. I expected as much.

Seems like they just used the same tech as their XCM FPS converter. -_-

Thanks Rickstah~!

So… a custom stick with a Madcatz 360 PCB in it will work just fine?

Alright, that’s cooool. Saves me a ton of effort to use a 360 PCB + this as opposed to wiring up a universal PCB. :looney:

What do you want to know about it? It’s the same thing described in the ‘2 pcbs in one stick’ thread, and works great. However, you should ask in the AiaB thread.

if “just fine” means “no lag” then it’s all good.

Any news on a tiebreaker review…

bumping this thread for justice

I really hope there’s no lag at all on it. For those 360 owners who bought a TE stick, what are you guys going to do? I’m espicially worried because I won’t even be able to play HD:remix or SFIV @ evo :/.

it would be a shame if this lags … if nothing helps im gonna get a MC Cthulhu and mod my TE …

Wow, they are really taking their sweet time to send it to MarkMan.

MarkMan found out about them sending it to him on Jan 19, and now is Feb 2. Did they send this through MediaMail or something? What kind of shipping did they use?!

I mentioned this in the converter thread but no one paid attention, the link for the lag tester does NOT work. :frowning: Bummed me out because I wanted to test an older converter I found that is performing exceptionally well. I still wanted to see if there were any frame delay anyways using the program, but to no avail.
