Interesting, we already know that the XBone won’t allow older controllers to work, now apparently Mike_Z has mentioned on stream that the PS4 does support older wired controllers (but that he’s not sure about arcade sticks).
haha, at least this makes for a more “interesting” and “lively” upcoming console war… the absolute chaos and bitter arguments that continue from this point going forward will be delicious. Most gamers like to pretend they don’t enjoy it though. I’m already checking on the XboxOne board over at gamefaqs… oh this should be gooood…good in the same way that the average chaotic Springer(late 90s)/Maury Paternity Test/random daytime talk show is good.
…but yeah Microsoft… you definitely dookied on yourself with this situation…big time FUBAR, folks.
i for one…love console wars. nothing brings out an emotional nerd like a good old fashion console war. people who are usually some very calculated logical person is turned into a emotional pile of mud.
Doesn’t seem that weird if you consider people were holding out on buying a WiiU until they saw what everyone else had to offer. That’s why i didn’t buy a WiiU, but i still don’t think i have enough information.
I’m wondering how renting games from Gamefly will be affected. Will I not be able to rent games anymore with this new Xbox? Maybe Microsoft will give rental companies a rental disc that cannot be installed or sold.
If I was microsoft, renting games would be just as bad as used games. They want your money, all of it. Its a business and they will do what they have to so they make a profit and stay afloat. If anything most games might have to come with a demo on the marketplace and thats how you will decide if you want to buy it day one with instant download or not. Either way, its either purchase it or gtfo time for microsoft. And everyone else soon enough. Microsoft is just the first one this console gen with the balls to take the first step.
To be fair from the publishers and retailers perspective this doesnt sound bad. But still I couldn’t sell a game on EBay or let a friend borrow a game for example.
That’s almost exactly as I claimed it would be earlier. I didn’t imagine that a person would have to be a licensed retailer to do it however. This is still fucked up because it means that I HAVE to go to a a middle man to sell my shit, and it pretty much guarantees that used prices will be much higher. If anything Gamestop should be in love with this.
Actually the NFL is growing in popularity in England and NFL Europe brought some interest to other European countries. The NFL is also an American organization and the biggest of American sports, so why wouldn’t they start there?
Anyway, I’m sure that Microsoft will make a similar arrangement with Gamefly, but Redbox may be fucked. I don’t think it’s conceivable to expect the company to remotely transfer access on an almost daily basis.
The Kinect can can watch how many people are in the room and potentially charge more if the number of viewers in my living room exceeds the amount of people allowed to view content on my XBone? Get the fuck outta here!
I doubt MS would be so bone-headed about charging for extra people in the room. That sounds just WAAAAAAY too retarded…yet so plausible at the same time.
The Kinect 2/HAL 9000 analogy is starting to get creepier and creepier…
