I would like to mod my agetec dreamcast stick with an xbox one controller.Iām not sure about a few things can someone answers my questions please?
First i want to do a simple xbox one stick,do i need to take off all the pcb in the dreamcast stick?(for easier soldering).
I kown there is a common ground on the xbox one pcb,do i have to connect the dreamcast stick to it?(i know the buttons need to be connect with it).
Can i plug the official headset,if i do this hack or do i need to make something elese?
Thx for answers and sorry for my bad english.
I just dual modded an xb1 pad to a ps360+, Iāve noticed that the xb1 LED blinks a couple of times and then dies out on PS360 mode. This is just the pad trying to connect wirelessly? Iāve cut the trace like @Phreakazoidā did in his picture so this blinking is nothing to worry about?
Yep, normal. It should do the same if you hold the HOME button to try and sync it to the system wirelessly (if you plug the stick into something other than the XB1)
I have my X-Box One pad all soldered and connected to my PS360+, but it didnāt work on the other system. Iāve been using it for a couple months as is, but recently purchased an IMPV2 for the auto-switch. My problem is there are no diagrams for the wiring to make it either auto-detect or at least only connect to X-Box One when the USB is plugged into the X-Box One. Iāve been able to wire it up somehow without actual instructions and it works on my X-Box One, but when I took it to a tournament recently, it wouldnāt connect to any of them.
I havenāt disabled the wireless antenna because I donāt want to damage anything on the pad in case I ever want to put it back together if FocusAttack ever comes out with an all-in-one PCB that works with PS3, PS4, X-Box 360, X-Box One, and PC.
So, my request is: Could someone with more knowledge than me post some wiring diagrams to show how the PS360+ should be wired to the IMPV2 and X-Box One PCB? Thank you all in advance!
its been posted before. IMPv2 is only auto switch in conjunction with a cthulhu and 360. You need to wire it for
basic setup and solder the jumpers A and C. http://www.godlikecontrols.com/imp2.pdf
Right. Bear in mind this is my very first soldering attempt and PCB modding attempt of any kind. Kindly, would you be able to provide me with substitutions for which board is referenced in those columns? For example, it says to connect the PS3 controllerās black wire to āIMP Gā and X-Box 360 controllerās black wire to āIMP A.ā Which boards are X-Box 360 and PS3? That is, do I substitute āX-Box Oneā when it mentions X-Box 360, and substitute āPS360+ā when it mentions PS3?
ok got the PCB from Jasen over the weekend, and just FINISHED reading from pg1 to hereā¦
now my only question regarding cutting the wireless traceā¦ do you guys just cut it with an exacto knife across? or is there another way to cut the trace?
Dose not matter, From when the hack first came out people warned this mod isnāt going to be a picnic.
You can have all the FAIRNESS and WISHFUL THINKING all you want, the true FAIRNESS is telling people the truth of what to expect.
Sugar coating the issue is unfair, unkind and a injustice for people looking to do the mod and for the entire community.
Just go read the whole thread from the beginning you see alot of people either struggle or screwed up on this mod.
Even the our electronic engineering folks say this is not a simple pad hack.
LOL! Guess people donāt like it when you get something working on your first try, then need help re-modding it to do what you want. Whatever. Was just hoping someone here could help me out. Thanks to Gahrling at least for answering some of my questions.
P.S. I donāt need sugar coating or nonsense about wishful thinking, all I was asking for was some clarification. I could have sworn this forum was here to help everyone learn, not people who already knew what they were doing.
It is not that I am hoping you fail, or saying you fail, I just trying to put it all into perspective.
But when the same message is said on this very thread a thousand times already like @Vicko said, and then someone acts surprise or insulted when we have to tell them the harsh truth. Donāt expect us to be nice about it.
Be being āfairā will not make your mod any less difficult, if you ask me there nothing fair about expecting someone new to to tackle this project with ease. For me the fair thing to do is letting them know what someone up against and (if you can) try to point them to all the answers they canāt find themselves.
We want people to succeed, there no trade secrets weāre trying to hide from you. If that is the case we wouldnāt bother to have this thread.
When you say your a Beginner, you know that is great you are willing to learn and get your hands dirty. Understand this is not easy mod. Some of our top modders now refuse to do XB1 & PS4 Pad hacks and Dual mods at tournaments because of the time and difficulty involved. If anything you deserve props for tackling a project most of the regulars here at Tech Talk will not even touch yet.
Please keep in mind before starting this project we already assume you have the basics already down.
We assume you are familiar with Dual-mods, how to solder and wire your buttons and joystick.
Well for the whole Forum, we assume people have the basic understanding of electrical theory (how electricity works) and basic tool use (you be surprised alot people donāt know).
