Xbox One PadHack Thread - Calling the goons "Toodles, Gummowned, Phreak and You" Do it for the Kids

Wondering how many pads were killed by first time folks

Well see. I have to go through with a meter tomorrow or later today and record my findings.

I gave up after the second one. Pretty sure itā€™s still good though.

Hereā€™s just a general PSA - if you have never soldered before, just have a trusted modder do it:

-insert any others who advertise their work-

There are a lot of people who may not have the tools or the handiness to take on a project like this. Rather than stress out or break a few pads or your current stick, spend the extra money and have the peace of mind knowing that your stick has been professionally modded and has a guarantee of workmanship. All of the information is in this thread to accomplish this mod, so if you have a hard time understanding or applying this information, just contact one of the above modders.

I would take it one step further and if you are not well experienced in soldering then not do itā€¦ unless you can possibly throw away 60 if you mess it up.

done a bunch of em but I make sure on certain points i am extremely careful.

If I wanted to pay the money Iā€™d just take my chances in preordering a TE2.
I know how to solder, just usually with a acetylene torch. thanks for all the info might try again later down the road.

Did you leave the analog cubes intact or did you attempt to remove them?
You should post pics of your bad in case someone notices something you didnā€™t

I left them on they actually would counter the scrolling effect. I will if I have trouble on my next attempt. I was doing this without flux as my RadioShack was out.

SOOOOO my mod took a turn for the worst, two turns actually.

First, i screwed up trying to solder a wire under the resistor/capacitor set, and ended up having to take em both off since it looked like the capacitor melted(used too big an iron tip)

I was going to use the pull-up resistor fix since RT was constantly being held down, but not sure if thats an option anymore.

Second, for some wierd reason, the controller refuses to do anything other then accept power from the USB cable. Used to only power up after I connected the cable pressed the button, then it would go to wireless mode. I cut the trace from the wifi antenna hoping that it would then force the controller to USB mode, and now it just ā€œscansā€ then shuts off. Any ideas?

Thought I would leave this here in case anyone missed itā€”> XBONE Pad PCBs - Now Shipping! Only $35.95!

Well got it to work, had to take ground from each button and wire them straight to the buttons and micro switches on the joystick. Also gutted all the 360 wires and boards out but no big deal. Thanks for the help.

You could try following the trace for the resistor/capacitor you took off and try this Xbox One PadHack Thread - Calling the goons "Toodles, Gummowned, Phreak and You" Do it for the Kids

I had the same issue issue with one of mine but couldnā€™t figure it out so I just left it as a wired wireless pad and gave it away lol
Maybe try a different usb cable/slot just in case?

I donā€™t know if @Phreakazoid knows about it yet?

Jhino3384 there a whole thread on it,

@Darksakul - I tried to post that like three times and the site wouldnā€™t let me. SRK be trippinā€™ sometimes.

OK, so I bit the bullet and bought a Xbox One pad for padhacking. Removing the plastic shell was very time consuming, had to dremel too much to get things done. In the process, I managed to tear one SMD part, I think it could be a diode since the silkscreen says D18

Does anyone know the caracteristics of this part ?

Itā€™s an IR LED, you can safely ignore it.
