Xbox One PadHack Thread - Calling the goons "Toodles, Gummowned, Phreak and You" Do it for the Kids

@Darksakul‌ wasn’t trying to be a dick just wanted to give you the facts. The mod has its problems and isn’t just easy one two three but yeah I asked a lot of questions about the imp a few pages back and when people repeat the same questions over and over it tends to make others facepalm. I am sure you will get it though. Maybe take a pic of your imp and post it. I did that with mine and immediately someone noticed I didn’t bridge the solder on the board like I was suppose to. Noob mistake.

So yeah I suggest looking over my post a few pages back because most of these guys gave some good examples of how to do it to the imp. Best of luck.

well now i messed up my back button trace, any way to find another pin point besides the trace on the bottom?

you should unedit your post so the answer can be had for all

question what arcade stick to use to fit the xbox one pcb

so far i have mayflash arcade stick modded and hori real arcade pro 3 ps3 as well… can regular size street fighter arcade stick work or should i get the Qanba Q1 PS3 & PC Joystick (Fightstick) for my second controller???

If you mean the TE or the SE, either of those are fine.

Sooooo… I may have have kind of sorta butchered my top board.

Notice the trace is completely pulled up on X. So I assume it’s fucked now, but for education I’ll ask anyway. Can I still attach top the ‘top’ of X?

I’ve never soldered before, and after this experience I don’t know if I’ll ever want to. I found it very frustrating.

you keep your iron on your board for too long.

Wow…lol. If you follow the trace for X that you lifted, theres a tiny blob of solder that you can connect to. or you can keep following the trace and connect to one of the via points. TBH though, that thing is pretty bad lol

Also, what happened to the led?

As for your soldering, you need to find something else to practice on until you get good otherwise you’ll keep running into issues. I’m assuming the following:

  • You didn’t use flux…makes a big difference
  • the wires your using are too thick for this task
  • your not being careful when scratching off the black carbon (get a fiberglass pen from radio shack if you have to)
  • your using an older iron, holding it against the board too long, and/or moving it around while on the board.

Sir ChaoticMonk and others, do you guys know what is the value of the C27 Cap, right under the sync button. I removed it by mistake while taking the button from the board.

Please watch this…

Thx for the tips guys.

So I was wondering if its possible to wire up 2 buttons to make 1 button. Example hooking up X and A to make XA. Reason being for combo breakers in KI. LP+LK=LCB. I tried earlier but all 3 buttons turned in to Grab. Just wondering if this is even possible. However the second method I’m looking at trying I feel is the exact same method I just tried…I also can’t use the pad for ‘A’ because I ruined the contact point. Using the pin location for it now.

diodes

face palm Thanks lol I should have known to use diodes. I was aware that I might have been back feeding but once I drew out my diagram with the diodes with the current paths it just makes sense.

Hi, i read a lot of the informations here, i would like to make my xbox one stick and i wanted to ask a couple of questions first, many said this is a very easy mod , but i have no experience whatsoever, even though i am obviously trying tp solder on a cheaper 360 pad, would you recommend me to try? And if so is there any basic tip i should be aware of?

I have read mostly the opposite on the difficulty of the xbone padhack…

The Xbox One PCB hack is not a easy hack for beginners.
Honestly I would not recommend any Xbox 360 pad for modding, especially since the 360 pads will not work on the Xbox One (and they all aren’t easy ether)

Now that said, someone who really good at the sort of thing, it might be “easy” for them.

I meant to use the 360 pad just to check my soldering ability, thanks for the advice, i won’t get into this project like nothing

get some perf or prototyping board
They are perfect for home DIY projects and cheap and common enough to practice and experiment on.
You can find this still in various sizes and shapes at Radio Shack
Much cheaper that messing with a Xbox 360 game pad.

Once you are confidant with your abilities on the perf board move on to something a bit more complex.
