you should never use solid wire on padhacks because you can pull the trace/pad off with little effort. stranded gives you a little wiggle room and can handle more stress
30 gauge is very thin. It wonāt pull off the traces. More likely to brake the wire actually.
Iāve had to resurrect a few via spots on a wireless 360 pad hack due to the 30 gauge wire breakingā¦not fun.
Was about to jump into this pad hack, but I think Iāll wait it out.
If were to do it with one of my current sticks, Iād want to add the pcb along the others, rather than have just the Xbox One pcb ā Iām sure I can do it, I just donāt want any headaches >_<
Having a weird problem with my pad hack most of the buttons work except for the X button. It sometimes goes off randomly, registers sometimes, then sometimes not at allā¦
Hey everyone, thank you for the input. I also appreciate the cautionary comments as well! Iāve actually got a bit of modding experience but I want to make sure I get this right. A while ago I was going to build a stick and already had it mostly wired up but had to stop since I lost access to woodworking tools. I also put in blue SMD LEDās around the guide button on two 360 controllers all using a crappy iron from radioshack with the standard tip. Maybe that might give me a little street cred so to speak, LOL. Either way, I want to be patient and plan everything while not getting too crazy. Hence the reason Iām just going to do a 6 button config on the XB1 side and leave the analog sticks on the PCB.
Thanks again for the input! Hopefully Iāll pop back on here in the next month to show my work. Just going to be patient get some better suited supplies and tools for the job.
Cheers!
the triggers are not that hardā¦ i dunno why people insist on nixing them and having to remap
I was always under the assumption that you couldnāt damage the black rectangular pads or triggers would go off so connecting to the capacitor seemed way to hard for me. Once Grammaton mentioned not to worry about them it became much easier
Hello, I am about to start a padhack of gigantic proportions. I gotta order part tho before. Can anybody tell me if the wireless functionnality still functions once the xbox recharger is plugged with the data+ and data- wires being disconnected(sabotaged) only leaving + and ground through the wire. if the controller can work indefinitly wirelessly just using the power supply from xbox itself. Or if it searches for a usb enumeration once it is connected and stops wireless operation.
Because its always a great thing know if M$ can provide the power source necessary to hack it.
Also, I am assembling a team of gifted modders, plz contact me if you have knowledge of electronics.
Glory awaitsā¦
Read the last few pages of this forum, we are actively working on disabling wireless and may have found a fix. More to come
This is madnessā¦NO! THIS IS TECH TALK!!!111!
That is not the purpose of my question, thats not why I wanna know, I would know how to do that if I wanted to.
I wanna know if serial packets are being sent from microcontroller to the the wifi chip once battery pack is being recharged through wire, with +data and -data of that wire disconnected. Or if transmission to the wifi chip stop and all is rerouted to usb + and - data and save maximum power.
So I will ask again

thx you.
Let me pose a question to you. WHY do you think we are looking for a way to disable wireless when people play with fightsticks via hard line?
So I will say it again
Itās all in the last few pages of this thread.
The short answer is, yes.
Power it via USB/5V but disable D-/D+ and it will still try to connect wirelessly as a fallback, you could literally test that in about 30 seconds with a pad in hand.
Like Grammaton said, all you had to do was read the this page and the last couple and you could have figured that out if you didnāt have a pad.
The xbox one pad works as a wired controller when itās plugged in. All the wireless aspects of it turn off when itās plugged in. You can tri hack it if you use a xbox one controller, a ps360+, and a imp v2. Sorry if this is already common knowledge.
Watch that language tho, to āāplug ināā the controller or to power it via xbox, one has the usb disconnected other is just powering the circuit.
Thx Phreak, if the xbox powers up the circuit and wifi continues wifi communication is good news.
This is the answer I needed, whats the big deal in wanting to remove the wifi anyways ?
Not that it makes a difference to meā¦You either need Schmidt triggers or not.
We may start sounding like a broken record but I really think that you need to read this thread @armcortex .
If you got a better plan to disable wifi Iām all ears but I fail to see how hysteresis solves the problem. Please elaborate.
Hey everyone, I ran into a problem while modding a friendās Xbox one pad into a stick. I got all of the buttons to work until I started to solder RT & LT. Now the buttons: A, B, RT, and LT donāt work. The A button still works when I use it to select Killer Instinct on the dashboard but it doesnāt work when I try to get an attack to come out. Can anyone explain to me what might be the problem?
oh yeah, does anyone know the alternate signal point for B?
Post pics please
scrape the trace under the button and solder there
Iām having someone padhack my te with remora and was wondering if he solders to remora for the signal points instead of to the buttons will I need the xbox one pad to have vcc and gnd solder to the power points on the board in order for them to send signals (even if I didnāt want the lights to work while plugged in for xbox one) why I ask I donāt know if the LEDs are too much of a power draw for the Xbox one pad
