Where exactly do you mean “under the button”? Do you mean on the same side of the board or on the back side?
You are having problems because your soldering needs to be tightened up. WAY too much and too long a lead stripped on the wires.
You are using too thick of a wire gauge… thinner (26 or higher) would be optimal. Definitely don’t use the wires that came with the stick…
thinner wire and small solder should look something along these lines.
Thanks for the advice; I appreciate it. This is the 2nd Xbox one stick I’m making. The first one was a success thanks to you guys. This is actually my 2nd time ever modding a stick >.< As you can see my soldering execution is at D tier.
Anyway, do you think the wires I used (the ones that came from the stick) is the reason why my A, LT, and RT won’t work? Also I still don’t understand where to look for the alternate signal point for the B button.
I think that you should desolder all the wires one the pad. Get all the solder off and redo your points. I am willing to bet somewhere something bridged badly. After desoldering, look at B… there is a fine trace… that is all I know you have to work with. I dont know any of the TP (test points) that go to B, I looked a little tonight and didnt see one off the bat… maybe someone else here knows… The thin trace can be scraped and used if you are careful.
Lifted pads are a hazard… but not unrecoverable. look where the break formed… if you carefully scrape there you may be able to get it to work… use some liquid flux to help it wet and stick.
Use a thinner gauge and connect it to the terminal strip… that makes things a lot easier as opposed to going directly to the buttons.
Also use a hot glue gun to anchor your wires a few mm away from your solder point… relieves stress when working with them.
Hey, im currently trying to do this on a 360 TE, I soldered all the point correctly, and daisy chained all the buttons to the ground. However, no inputs work unless the RB button is held down. Everything works, directions, buttons etc… but only if the RB button is held. If it isnt, nothing. Anyone able to help ? its probably a problem with the ground
Did you solder the signal instead of the ground for the RB?
When you say daisy chained, how so? the buttons are already daisy chained via the terminal strip inside the case…
You should only need to connect the ground once from the pad. Pics of the wiring will assist.
I’m not using the terminal strip inside, but thank you for your response, I did solder the signal instead of the ground. I feel really stupid now XD.
cheers MTLMatt
glad you understood what I meant… you soldered the signal line into your ground I was assuming.
Another spot, follow the trace that comes out of where you broke it and you’ll see it get to a small solder spot next to the letters “D14”.
You’ll want to connect to the spot closes to the B button (spot on top, not the one next to the letters “D14”).
Good thing about this spot is its pretinned so should be easier to work with, just don’t bridge it with the other tinned spot by mistake
Getting ready to mod 2 sticks next week. One last question: Can the battery contacts on the XB1 PCB be desoldered or is it best to just cut the protuding parts off leaving the remaining contacts intact?
Yes.
Great! I figured so but didn’t see any confirmation as such. Dem bitches will be comin out!
You can also remove the shoulder buttons if you want it flatter but not a big deal to leave them on
Well after 2 long nights, a bad burn to my middle finger and a lost y copper pad (had to solder my y button to my view button :< ) My stick is now 100 percent functional! the last button i need to wire up is the home button but im glad that it has saved me from spending 300 dollars to mad cats!
Is there any way to solder a mic port on the Xbone PCB?
Anyone close to SC that wants to do this for me? I’m pretty sure I screwed up the VCC point on both the pads I tried it on… ;___; If nobody’s close I’ll pay shipping both ways. PM me with cost, etc.
That’s why you use a micro usb cable instead ^^
Anyway myself or gummo charge $120 plus shipping both ways. He would probably be closer since he’s in VA.
Hey guys quick question. I am going to mod 2 of my sticks. I have one Qanba Q4(should be the newest version) and one (x360) SxT V.S. stick.
For the Qanba if I didn’t want to use the Qanba PCB I would need to probably use the PS360+ correct?
Now if I use the Qanba PCB then I would just take the XBone PCB’s and piggy back them off the Qanba PCB right?
I can make the guide button for the Xbone PCB go to say the Turbo button on the Q4.
So to sum up the Q4 I would piggyback the xbone pad onto the qanba PCB and piggyback the guide button to the turbo button.
I shouldn’t need to do anything else correct? I don’t need an RJ45. I don’t need say an IMP. I would just need to piggyback it onto the existing PCB and turn the pcb on via the Turbo button when I plug it into my Xbone right?
Second stick is my 360 SxT V.S. Stick.
For this I want to duel-mod then padhack it. This one has me a bit confused. I believe I have it though.
I would take a cuthulu PCB(for the PS3 support) and wire the V.S. PCB to it. Then the cuthulu to the IMP with a RJ45 on the imp. Wire that RJ45 to an RJ45 on the stick case and use a RJ45 USB cable. I believe this is the set up no? Now to add the Xbone do I wire it to the cuthulu as well? and if thats the case can I do the same as I did with the Q4 and wire the guide to the Turbo button?
Sorry if this question is a mess I was going to create my own topic about this but I figured it would be best to post in here about my questions. I am new to modding but I am confident going slow and making sure I get the right questions answered will guide me to success. Thanks guys.
I recommend using an imp vs a switch/2 usb cords just because i think it’s easier and cleaner. Also, you shouldn’t have a problem wiring the 2 home buttons together and cutting the trace for the antenna that @Phreakazoid posted a few pages ago.
As far as the 2nd stick, are you going for multi console (PS2, GCN, etc) or do you want PS3 functionality only? If you want multi console I would say go for the MC Cthulhu + Imp with rj45. If you only want PS3 I’d say go Cerberus. Then padhack the xbone pad and use an imp for switching just like with the first stick.
I have a question, if modders have been able to successfully program a way for the cronaus max(I think that is what its called) to use a Xbox 360 controller on the Xbox one, has toodles been able to write a program for his mc cthulu to erk on the Xbox one or is it similar to Xbox 360 which is why many of us have dual modded a mc cthulu with an xbox 360 pcb.
