Xbox One PadHack Thread - Calling the goons "Toodles, Gummowned, Phreak and You" Do it for the Kids

I think I may have destroyed the solder points for Y and X while trying to get a blob of solder on. What are my options? :frowning:

Yupā€¦ pump works fineā€¦ I hate the ā€œcubesā€

cleans up nicely when you take all the crap off

Follow the trace. There is an exposed contact spot with solder on it. Thetes also the vias. Careful with either as they are both small and frail.

Scratch the trace surface to reveal metal. I recomend that after scratching you put a little flux/paste in said scratch. That way the solder blob will get more chances to wet the trace.

Yeah I ruined a PCB Thursday trying to do this. The dpad points were no problem, but the buttons on the face I lifted the copper pad off when soldering it. I am no soldering expert but I have modded a few joysticks for myself and never had this issue. So just be careful when doing this.

where do i solder the ground to on the fightstick? anything metal/ the JLF bracket or what?

Ground point on the padā€¦ same as the buttons

if I am not mistaken you guys with the padhacks are the only people to be playing on stick right. At least until monday or something like that.

no some folks already have the KI Fightstick

Thanks guys, I was able to solder to the X & Y pinouts Gummo mentioned and seems to have done the trick.
Stopping here till I figure out if I can connect this pad to my existing setup without breaking stuff (hori 360 pcb to cerberus to remora to arc eyes. Thinking I can just connect this to cerberus too but not sure what would happen if cerberus passed power through to both the 360 and xb1 PCBs at the same time lol)

Thanks to the people on here, it worked, gutted the SFxT and installed this:

just like mine dude, it aint pretty but it works. Mad Catz must be crying on every single pad hack they seeā€¦ thats possibly one less joystick sold because of their ridiculous delays.

What I heard is that the KI fightstick doesnt work yet because something to do with drivers or something

Quick question: If I ā€œclassic hackā€ an X1 pad and piggy back it to a lets say, Madcatz SC 5 stick, would it give me troubles? Keeping both usb cables I dont care

I have 3 KI sticks here they work fine but I like my dual modded silent stick

You can dual mod the xbone pcb to other pcbs just fine. How you want to handle usb switching is the fun part.

Iā€™ve modded 4 sticks so far at the tourny Iā€™m at. 2 were just x1 only mods. 3rd was adding x1 to a 360 stick. 4th was adding x1 to a mc/360/imp2/rj45 setup. Iā€™m working on my 5th now, a chimp/360 rj45 setup. Iā€™m using 4pdt switches for thr usb lines and home. Donā€™t want x1 pad to turn on wirelessly while playing on the other systems.

So whatā€™s the trick for the triggers? is soldering to the headers not enough?

in case anyone finds it useful

Check your Pms mate

How difficult of a pcb is this to work with? I think I would prefer to go this route over buying another TE.

Iā€™ve done modding myself, but with mostly madcatz pcbs. Those were all fairly easy, but this one looks a little more difficult.
