Scratch the trace surface to reveal metal. I recomend that after scratching you put a little flux/paste in said scratch. That way the solder blob will get more chances to wet the trace.
Yeah I ruined a PCB Thursday trying to do this. The dpad points were no problem, but the buttons on the face I lifted the copper pad off when soldering it. I am no soldering expert but I have modded a few joysticks for myself and never had this issue. So just be careful when doing this.
Thanks guys, I was able to solder to the X & Y pinouts Gummo mentioned and seems to have done the trick.
Stopping here till I figure out if I can connect this pad to my existing setup without breaking stuff (hori 360 pcb to cerberus to remora to arc eyes. Thinking I can just connect this to cerberus too but not sure what would happen if cerberus passed power through to both the 360 and xb1 PCBs at the same time lol)
just like mine dude, it aint pretty but it works. Mad Catz must be crying on every single pad hack they seeā¦ thats possibly one less joystick sold because of their ridiculous delays.
Quick question: If I āclassic hackā an X1 pad and piggy back it to a lets say, Madcatz SC 5 stick, would it give me troubles? Keeping both usb cables I dont care
You can dual mod the xbone pcb to other pcbs just fine. How you want to handle usb switching is the fun part.
Iāve modded 4 sticks so far at the tourny Iām at. 2 were just x1 only mods. 3rd was adding x1 to a 360 stick. 4th was adding x1 to a mc/360/imp2/rj45 setup. Iām working on my 5th now, a chimp/360 rj45 setup. Iām using 4pdt switches for thr usb lines and home. Donāt want x1 pad to turn on wirelessly while playing on the other systems.
