It does for some things. For example, you canât use upload studio at all without kinect being plugged in and turned on. Even if you just want to upload gameplay without recording voiceover/cam footage the app wonât let you in without it
It was a requirement, but MS reversed the policy as Sony was killing them marking wise. All it takes is a update to flip a single bit and the kinect becomes mandatory again.
its like how a single update can disable alot of unauthorized 3rd party accessories.
They have it off now to placate angry fans and dispute their critics, once MS gets to a good size install base and get their loyalty back, watch they flip that switch on.
Iâm with Gummo on this, what does MS gain by backstabbing their install base by doing this? Theyâve already sold you the kinect by the virtue of you owning the XB1. Larry and his team already learned a pretty valuable (and costly) lesson â customers what the option to utilize ânext genâ technology when they see it can improve their experience, they refuse to be forced into the situation.
No, not that the technology exists but that somebody is willing to be lynched by customers and more importantly share holders for flipping it back on
share holders only care about is the return of their investments.
As for Microsoft customers, a small chuck of them felt Kinect requirements and the forced DRM policies was good for them because MS said so.
Then agian I am accusing MS of doing something EA does alot
After the first Halo game is released on xb1 the wager pool is increased by $10.
Wager lasts until microsoftâs next console to success the xb1 is released or until kinect is mandatory.
If kinect is mandatory before the successor is released then you win the wager paid by me.
If kinect is not mandatory when the successor is released then I win the wager paid by you.
Hmm so this pad looks pretty simple to dip into. Common ground, and Iâll only be wiring up to 6 buttons, so no need for me to hit the triggers (and Iâm lazy).
do you have a pic of the other side?
Your not resting it on anything metal when its plugged in right?
also, did you run into any other issues while hacking the pad? or do anything out of the norm (solder to different points, etc.)?
Since you have most of the solder removed you may as well remove the switch, one less thing to troubleshoot.
