I got my stick going pretty much 100%. My one problem is that it seems to randomly hit the guide button on its own randomly when playing. My wiring is a bit messy but Iām not sure if thatās the actual cause. Is there something specific I should be looking for to fix this problem? No other buttons seem to press themselves at all.
Hello Thanks for the write up guys you saved the day! I was trying to buy one of those mad Katz sticks for a family member for Xmas however they are sold out. I came upon this thread last night and decided WTH. So I got a ps MK fight stick and bought an xbox one controller and did what the forum said. I do not own an Xbone so is there any way I can tell if this is going to work before I gift it??? I did plug is into my Laptop and pushed the Xbox button (which) is now a PS button and the led started flashing so I know I got that one right but is there something I can download to test it? Thanks in advance
Yea I read that as well, I wasnāt sure if you guys had something to check the buttons on PC Because it was my understanding you had this Moded before the Xbone even came out haha anyway I guess I need to break in his house and test it when he is gone. I do have three more question first one: Does KI use the triggers for anything in game play and second when I hook them up what is the wattage on those 100ohm resistors or does it matter I was going to pick some but RadioShack has 1/8,1/4,1/2, wattage? Also I got an MK stick that has a different button layout then his old 360 MadCatz one its a little late but do you guys think this stick would be ok to use there is not 8 buttons together two are on the top.
I hope you can help me. I urgently want/need a decent controller for XBox One, the standard one is the worst pad for fighting games I have ever seen. Such a nightmare, absolutely unplayable. Good that I just bought the XBone because of KIā¦
I dont wanna mod anything, I just wanna buy a controller or a solution (like an adapter?) to use a decent fightpad. Ideally something like the fighting commander 3.
Obviously you never played on the Xbox 360 game pad
And nope, its too early for any adapters, or 3rd party controllers yet. Just the Mad Catz TE2, and they are currently on back order.
Well technically there is the Cronus, but It is far from perfect.
If I could afford another one today I would but donāt want to wait till next week lol
I know Iām close though.
Whats odd is, Whenever I first connect it its fine for 5 mins or so then the up starts to get pressed (not held down, just pressed repeatedly)
Ok so I cleaned up the wiring and I thought I fixed the problem but it happened again 1 time during a 10 game set. It was happening more often before I cleaned it up. I just have a question about this and thank you guys for all the info so far. When I ran the ground wire I ran it from the controller board to the 6 buttons (a,b,x,y,lb,rb) and to the stick. I tapped into the ground on rb to extend it to start, select and home. So on rb I have the ground coming from lb and then a ground going from rb out to y and start, then I chained the ground from start to select and home. Is it ok to have sort of a fork in the road like this with the ground? Can that cause problems? If not Iāll just try to clean up the wiring more.
Sorry if the explanation is bad, I can take pictures if needed.
Ok here are some pics from my iphone. Like I said the wires are messy and Iām obviously an amateur with a soldering iron. Hopefully these are detailed enough.
RB is the button on the top right and the orange cable is the ground.
Just a question. Are you laying the XBO pad pcb on that metal plate? That metal plate could be conductive acting as a ground and causing a short. If you have nothing to mount the pcb with at least put it in a plastic zip lock bag to remove the possibility of the pcb touching the metal plate.
I wired and soldered everything according to the guide on page 8 including adding 100 ohm resisters on the triggers. I did not remove the analog cubes as one hack at a time. When I push on my solder points with some force they do not budge so I know I have good connections.
I do not own an XB1 yet so I am just doing testing by connecting it to my laptop. (this may be my issue, I know I will not get connection as there are no drivers but I should get power). The USB cords I am testing with is one from Mono Price and the other an XB1 cable from the official Play and Charge kit.
Problem, when I plug either cable in nothing happens; the Home button does not light up.
So I use my multimeter to test and from ground to home solder point I get nothing but from ground to the other connection point for the Home button on the left side I get tone. I re-soldered both the Home and the ground solder points and still no power. I know the power should come from the USB connection and I do not have to wire the VCC. The USB ports on the laptop works and both cables tested.
So what am I doing wrong here? What else can I do to test? Do I need an XB1 even for power?
EDIT: I am getting tone now through the Home and Ground. I tested all solder points and getting tone between each point and ground, however still no powerā¦ weird.
