If you are wiring in a different usb cable to the data points you will need the resistors, even if it’s not being tied into another board. If you’re just making an Xbox One stick just use the micro usb plug.
it is done!!! First time Pad Hacking, First time Soldering and it came out working! wiring needs some cleaning up, but that will be done once i hot glue to secure the wires…
Huge thanks to everyone here , especially @chaoticMonk !!!
I’m mad jealous of you. I really want to give this a try, apart from I’ve never modded anything like this before, only have one arcade stick, one wireless pad and I’m a brokeass student who really can’t afford to mess it up lol. Nice work though!
Yeah haha, I think that would be best. I’m really itching to play KI though lol. That was like my favourite childhood game. MS even gave me free characters!
Could you make a pic of how and where you connected them to the 360/TE pcb ?
Also wonder if you dual mod the TE stick and work with 2 usb cables, can we link the xbox one home button to the x360/TE home button ?
So that if the stick is connected to the xbox one, i can press on original home button on top of the stick to activate the home button on the xbox one pcb ?
good work on the guide guys! The only question that i have is the type of screw drivers you need to open this up. If i understand correctly you need a T8H for the shell and a T5H for the pcb? Can i get some verification? Also, does anyone know if there is a micro usb to usb adapter like the one that we’re all using in the last gen sticks (A-B USB)?
yeah the neutrik. I just realized i can get a short cord from the xbone controller to the neutrik and just use a regular cable from the neutrik to the console. Do you guys know if it has to be a USB 3.0 cable, or an official M$ cable? like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfjL74sI1jE
Could someone please post a diagram of where all the ground cables need to go? I think it’s where im having issues (when i plug in usb i get no power) I feel like I have everything wired correctly based off the information shared so far. Im dealing with 3 ground cables: 1’s coming from joystick wires, 2nd from button wires, and 3rd for the Home button. I have all 3 soldered to the areas confirmed as ground (near the bumpers). If anyone could help I’d gladly appreciate it! Shots out to ChaoticMonk for helping SO much already, amongst others p.s My very first time doing anything like this, but I LOVE KI, HATE playing on controller, and can’
t afford $200 now.
