^ Holy shit I was looking for that exact song.
I had to say it was bad because I originally made the post on a forum that didn’t condone piracy. I’m really just sick of people who buy used games getting on their soapboxes telling people who pirate they are dirty sinners.
And yeah, everything else works that way, but it happens so much more in this industry. Really what I’m saying is I don’t know why you are surprised, if they want to stop piracy why wouldn’t they want to stop selling used games. The consequence is identical as far as they are concerned.
And that cd is actually VERY VERY rare too. Look it up on amazon and see how much it’s going for. Like that Back To The Industry song too thanks for that link.
Also starting to notice that the generation gaps between systems is getting bigger and bigger really. First xbox was what 2001? Then 360 in 2005 and 6 years later still no new system. PS2 2000 (1999 japan I think?) Then 2006 ps3, etc etc. Would you say the systems are starting to “peak” and this next gen won’t be that big of a jump in power? I know for nintendo it will be a huge jump. But that’s really because there “behind” a generation so to speak.
This the shit that make niggas want to pirate. Just to say fuck you to Microsoft.
ermmm, that’s what I’ve already said. And others. Shit like this would PREVENT us from buying a 720. Should we use smaller, easier words?
With consoles, its getting harder and harder to make a console more powerful, and yet lock it down to still be a console and not a PC. I think even consoles realize this now. You have a really powerful PC, that can only play games and watch DVD’s. Hrmmmm…
That’s like making a car with 1000 HP, but it only goes straight forward.
Like you said, it’s a 6-years-and-counting wait for a 360/PS3 (2005 tech) update-- that’s eons in computing years. Unless they put out budget systems, Wii-style, this should be the biggest jump in console visuals since 5th gen to 6th gen. But I’m not sure whether every big developer (especially the Japanese ones) has the money or talent to really exploit the extra power.
Speaking of pc gaming is that console looking desktop by alienware good for its price?
Nothing Alienware is good for the price. Absolutely nothing. Not trying to be a dick to you by saying this, but it cannot be overstated or said with enough hyperbole how much Alienware will go out of their way to rape your bank account.
Agreed. Just build a system.
Ya. I bought a new comp for 1000 bucks a few months ago.
i5-2500k
8 gigs ram
gtx 560ti
500gigs hd
And that is SOLID BRO.
nice build. Lemme know how the i5 works for ya, you really should have just went with one of the AMD’s and saved a bill or two.
best part is you won’t need to worry about the ram for YEARS, and HDD’s are soon to be pointless, and worst case scenario you can just replace the video card or crossfire it in the future. You’re probably set for the next 5-6 years with that pc, EASILY.
you rich
$1000 for that seems just a bit expensive to be honest (specially if you’re like me and buy stuff when the sales are good), then again the 2500k is a pricey and the mobos are expensive as well (Both will be $400-$500 easily). If you have a Microcenter near you, they almost always have it for $180 + $40 or $80 compatible motherboard combos (in-store only) which will save you a good chunk of money (they charge tax though). On top of that they normally give you a 10% off coupon off RAM and other accessories. NCIX also had the 2500k for $200 with free shipping, no tax. Still not a bad price for the build though. AMD would have saved you cash and have excellent price/performance value but the performance of Bulldozer itself was disappointing to be honest (gaming performance, it has excellent performance in multi-threaded applications and such, worse than the i5 on single-threaded and gaming) and overclocking it would have lessened the gap. Overclocked i5s are just a different monster altogether and if you care about performance that alone is probably worth the price premium, it should be simple enough to get it to hit 4.5GHz on air with a decent aftermarket heatsink.
I’m still rocking an E8400 with a GTX460 though (I don’t play many CPU intensive games, and game at 1080p). Currently saving cash to get a new PC either late this year or early next year. Too bad high end Kepler stuff is rumored to be late 2012/early 2013. I want my next GPU to be somewhere on the high end ($300 - $400) instead of the mid-range this time since I like modding my games when possible and the extra performance + RAM always helps for that.
And yeah, SSD prices have been pretty good lately (these things are a damn good investment IMO), during sales some are going below $1/GB. I had to buy a 1TB HDD for all my games though, I just like having them installed .
You know the whole argument of a gaming PC is kinda overhyped because PC’s are just there to do whatever you want them to do. So in the long run investing in a good gaming PC means that you bought yourself an awesome multimedia platform that also plays some kick ass games. So meh at that whole I spent 1,000 dollars just to play games, I spent 1,000 on a bomb ass system that won’t suck ass.
EXACTLY.
Dropping 2K on a rig, I have a multitasking monster that blazes through Photoshop and Painter 12, rendering and all, whilst listening to high def music streamed through Klipsch buttery mids goodness, whilst surfing the net/idling AIM/mIRC, and/or playing/idling in the game of my choosing.
I will never, for the life of me, understand how some people settle for onboard sound.
If we’re not talking about one of those motherboards with a dedicated Sound Blaster card piggybacked onto it, fuck that noise - literally.
I actually went for a cheaper mobo. No access to crossfire or SSD. Which was fine for me.
And that’s basically a system from scratch, all parts were bought seperately.
So the only way it would be cheaper, would be if any of it was on sale, which it was not at the time.
that’s the nice thing about it though, you can prioritize with a computer. It just so happens that prioritizing for gaming also means that you get access to Blu-Ray quality video. Point still stands that a gaming computer won’t do just gaming; so it is best to look at as if your stove was suddenly able to play whatever absurdly high benchmark game is out there at insane framerates. It’ll still cook, but now you can also play starcraft 2, diablo 3, and do a whole lot of cooking on this new bad ass stove.
Right, that works fine as long as you actually use that power to do other things as well. At that point, the investment is much more worth it. I think the problem is that a most people don’t do all that stuff so dropping that much cash just to play games is an issue for them. You don’t need a $1k machine to go on facebook. Actually, most people probably have much more computing power than what they actually need. People give me funny looks when I whip out my Thinkpad T30. It’s old as fuck, but it’s an amazing machine which runs Puppy Linux beautifully (uses like 50MB on boot). The specs on it are “shit” by today’s standards but it does what it needs to do perfectly. I spent maybe $100 on some parts after getting it for free (it was going to the dumpster…fucking shameful).
My PC is also my media center, I watch all my movies, anime, porn and listen to all my music through it as well. My mobo is old so it has really bad on-board sound. Managed to pick up a X-fi XtremeGamer for $50 a few years ago (luckily this piece of shit hasn’t given me any issues in Vista or Windows 7 with the drivers). Made a hell of a difference at the time, but it’s probably something that won’t be necessary on a new machine unless you have a really nice setup which would warrant an additional investment. Then again, going with a nice receiver is probably the better option if you’re the type that spends big money on home theater stuff. My ATH-AD700s better last me a long time though, fucking $90 headphones is basically entry level shit but I am not made of money .
I was thinking of throwing this bad boy in the future to upgrade.
Niggas getting jealous.

7 million triangles a second, bitches.
I’m going to be getting a new desktop, come getting back out to AZ, later this year.
I’m going to gratuitously rip off Digital Storm’s builder specs, and build my own for half the price.
