Streets of rage 2 should have gotten the final fight treatment. Too bad sega is too dumb to do anything about their god awful net play in their great game releases.
Played After Burner Climax for a bit. Great arcade classic, but those goddamn missiles…
A friend and I played out Final Fight Double Impact. Got all the achievements including the vault unlocks. Was a great ride all the way to the finish.
so so sad seeing the transformation of that game, it looked like it changed from HYPER UPGRADED version of shenmue, but online! 100s of players battling, huuuggee mmo community- -into- -Silkroad online with guns
Blur is a definitely a fun game but out of 20 racers the best i’ve been able to do is get 8th. It seems really tough to place top 3 nonetheless win a race. Am I the only one who’s experienced this? Also, anyone tried out the Split Second demo yet?
Yeah it is hard but at the same time it can’t be that hard when people do it over and over and over again.
For one thing it’s about staying out of the pack right at the beginning. When everyone is clumped up like that you’ll get fucked up. So lag behind or hold your spot ahead as best you can. But yeah it’s incredibly tough to crack the top three during the 2nd lap of a race. But I’ve gotten first a few times.
Oh such a great week. My birthday is the day before this too!
My only knock against this game is that it looks a wee bit empty. Not a lot of background detail going on for a game that costs $15 compared to other HD upgraded games that run for $10. Damn Square.
I don’t think that SNK’s games are ever coming out.
Holy crapola that’s a nice selection. Makes me glad I’ve got an xbox on the way.
On a side note, if I were able to get a hold of a copy of ODST that has the reach beta code would it be too late to redeem it? Just now getting into the 360 fray after being on the ps3 train for a few years, so I don’t really know if there was a redemption window for it, etc.
I finally got back into the world of Borderlands… the DLC for this game is how it SHOULD be done, imo. This is an example of things done right… I think there was more thought put into the design of the Zombie Island than the regular main game, actually. I got it over the weekend since it was last week’s deal of the week…then I got Mad Moxxi and that is THE SHIT…as long as you have other people to play with of course. This actually managed to add some difficulty to the game…of course I probably need to level up and get better weapons anyway… I am only level 37 or 38.
Also, custom soundtrack helps spruce the action up in the main game. It’s really kind of boring otherwise, imo…this is because there is nothing about the game’s real soundtrack that stands out. In fact, I think it’s really just random ambient sounds going on most of the time. It’s much better roaming around and killing bandits while I have some Bobby Brown On Our Own in the background as my theme music…or my usual “Welcome to the Jungle”, “Let’s Dance”, etc.
Just ordered Nier for PS3, and will likely be buying Record of Agarest War when it comes out today on PSN, but I’m not sure I’ll actually have time to spend on either of them, to be honest… still grinding through FFXIII in between SSFIV sessions.
If nobody posts up anything by the end of next week, I’ll likely have at least tried both of them, so can write up “first impressions” if nothing else.
I got SSFIV and Splinter Cell Conviction on the same day. Yesterday I copped After Burner and L4D2’s the Passing. Last week of school Rocket Knight comes out and at any given point Serious Sam 2nd Encounter HD should be out (and I"ll be getting that thanks to all the frigging multiplayer modes. Holy Moly Ma!).
So I’m gonna talk about SC:C and AB:C (ha! abc).
Splinter Cell: Conviction
It’s a fun game just easy as hell. Like yes I’ve been shot to death a lot but I’ve gotten away with a lot of bull twinky when it came to sneaking around. The Mark and Execute feature is of course, dope, and the number of marks you get is based on the the weapon you have. All the weapons are upgradable too to some degree. You get points to spend on upgrade by being a bad ass (stealthy kills, head shots, etc). So overall I like the game a lot and the only gripe I have is that the world goes black and white when you are in the darkness. It’s a neat concept but they should have just stuck with a meter to measure light like in all the other games.
After Burner Climax
It’s After Burner and it is FAST. The level variety is cool and you spend the perfect amount of time in each environment. Enemy variety is solid (haven’t beaten the game yet though) and the graphics are just awesome: fun, bright, and distinct. Music is fucking sweet as milk chocolate dripping off a titty. My only gripe is that you can roll too easily. It’s a quick left-right-left or right-left-right motion which seems like a good idea in theory but you can change directions so quickly that you’ll end up doing a roll instead. I would have preferred a button to hold to roll with.
I know it won’t include shit like Halo, but I just thought it was interesting that after being touted as practically an exclusive developer, that they are opening up like that. I know it’s been like what, almost 3 years since they officially split off from MS, but this is the first that we’re really seeing the results of that.
It kinda doesn’t matter to me, because the only game I’ve liked by them is generally considered their shittiest one (Oni :rofl), but I still find it interesting.
