I dont pay attention to newer Xmen characters, that sucks that they had to reuse the name Angel since Warren Worthington III has been called Angel since the 60s and is a true first class member. I am the same as you. I was heavily into X-men in the 80s and 90s when I used to collect comics. so my brain is still in line with that universe and continuity.
I did not dig Darwin at all, I though he was some fake as movie character because he was not around when I read the books. Even the Angel in this movie through me for a loop, but I went with it.
The movie is good enough for me to give them a pass on character use.

came back from the movie, it was sick.
magneto flying at the end was ok to me, probably that whole rage/serenity shit where he attained that next level emotionally after finally completing his revenge.
also, was it just me or did magneto get MAD irish on the beach scene? like, his irish accent came out so heavily during that scene it was as if they filmed that shit first then as the progressed throughout the picture he was practicing up on his english.
Yeah it did. His English accent was good though and that was his real voice so it wasn’t terrible like Robin Hood Prince of Thieves where Kevin Costner tries an English accent for like two scenes and then is like “Fuck it Robin Hood is from California deal with it.” Yeah that movie sucked.
I wouldn’t mind it if Fassbender just rocked his real accent throughout the whole movie Sean Connery style. Some people might get pissed though but nobody got butthurt when Connery played a Scottish-sounding Russian submarine captain. Real accents are almost always better than terrible fake ones.

Just saw this movie and it was really good!
Having the Hellfire Club as the main villains was genius and Kevin Bacon was excellent as Sebastian Shaw. I knew Shaw’s Mutant Power of absorbing energy was pretty cool, but they made it frightening and awesome as hell in the movie 
It did irritate me that Moira MacTaggert had an American accent, but I always hated that bitch in the comics!

I agree, Darwin was horrible, I thought he was a character just made for the movie until I had to look him up online. I think they are running out of ideas for new mutants. I believe they chose the mutants they did because they do not want to confuse people who enjoyed the 1st Xmen movies.

I think most of you are too easily impressed. Pretty average flick. A lot of motivations and twists make no sense at all and plenty of weak performances. Not on par with Dark Knight.
