The Wolverine movies didn’t happen - maybe.

If you take a look at the last scene in the school, you’ll notice a few things:

• Rogue and Bobby together. Rogue has the white streak in her hair, so we can infer that X1 indeed happened.
• Also Wolverine’s presence alone confirms X1 happened.
• Kitty and Peter are teaching a class. There’s no romantic involvement implied, but it’s obvious a “wink, wink, nod, nod” type of situation.
• There’s nothing I saw to deny that X2 happened.
• Cyclops and Jean returning is a huge flag waving that X3 didn’t happen.
• Perhaps I’m reading too much into it, but I think there may have been some foreshadowing of a Wolverine/Storm hookup. I truly hope so, if for nothing else to let Cyke/Jean breathe a bit going into X-Men: Apocalypse - which HAS to have Cable.

I think we have to assume that the Wolverine movies didn’t happen either. Why? Because as someone stated above, Emma Frost is a kid in that movie, meanwhile in First Class, which is movie canon, she was a grown woman who ended up dissected by Trask. Also take into account that in the second Wolverine movie, he spends the entire time mourning a death that didn’t happen.

So I’d put both Wolverine movies and X3 in the “alternate timeline” folder and leave them there. Sadly this means that we can probably say goodbye to ever seeing a Cyclops/Havok arc or have Emma Frost in any of these movies. Kinda weird, but I’d rather the first Wolverine to be canon and FC to be the alternate timeline, just to undo the damage to Havok and Emma.

Going forward, I hope these producers and directors have learned to give a little more respect to the source material. I’m not expected a complete carbon copy story to movie conversion, but not taking that same ridiculous amount of liberties to point where a retcon is needed.

In X2, Stryker had full memories of putting the adamantium into Wolverines body so we can’t really say that Mystique was the one who did it. Plus, the end of the movie didn’t show Wolverine bringing out his claws so we’re not sure whether he has Bone claws (which would wipe out Wolverine 1-2 and X-Men 1-2) or whether he has the adamantium claws. Personally, I’m okay if this ended up resetting the entire X-Men movie time line to before or after X1.

Also, fuck Halle Berry as Storm they should have gotten Angela Bassett like the fans wanted originally.

[details=Spoiler]Agreed, I wouldn’t mind if the entire timeline after X1 were reset. That would still leave the problems from First Class, but Emma could be brought back via decades of stasis in Diamond form, since we’re only told she’s dead and I don’t recall seeing her Trask’s photos.

I said on another forum that I’d be happy with January Jones staying on as Emma. I think the script did the character more of a disservice than Jones’ acting.

I honestly don’t have a problem with Halle as Storm. Would Angela Bassett be an improvement? Possibly since she has that look of aged wisdom and regality, but it’s not a distraction for me.

I liked how Fassbender toward the end really pulled off the “McKellen” accent.
Blink being top tier assist was cool and done really well. I dont recall her having any lines which was weird but its ok.
Warpath did a whole lot of nothing, could have done without him with and instead used another mutant.
All the “deaths” were a lot more gruesome than i thought they would have been, but i like the way they did it.
They really need to explain the re-adamantiumized claws.
The rage in Eric is immense and Fassbender pulled it off like a champ with the airplane scene.
McAvoy did really well to show a weaker more human xavier.
JLaw, well what can you say, she definitely brought her A game.
Special effects were top notch, except for the end.

I dont know how people miss this but, in X3, theres a scene where xavier talks about the ethics of transporting the consciousness of a dying man into the body of a brain dead person. So its inferred that at the end of the wolverine, that is what he did and you see “xavier” by telepathic trickery, instead of the body of the brain dead.

So it happens, then it doesnt.

This makes a lot of sense. Halle Berry is prob way more expensive than her scenes as Storm have been worth. Famke is getting kinda old and Mardsten is the most bitch ass Cyclops they prob could have gotten. While your at it give me a beefier Beast and a WAY hotter Rogue.

I want a Cyclops that gives a vibe more like a high level marine who doesnt defy orders rather than just being a kiss ass pansy like Mardsen portrayed him. Toughen cyclops up a bit, make him more of a main, and do it right this time!

They should just focus the X-men on Cyke, Wolvie, Jean, Rogue (90’s bitch rogue), Gambit, Nightcrawler, Storm and Shadowcat. I never understood why they just introduce random mutants and just give them shit screen time while Wolverine does everything. X-men wasn’t popular because of just wolverine.

I do like the rogue choice, MaidenMasha and i completely agree about Cyclops. I just hate how the movies fucked up Cyclops and Rogue. I good X-men movie would have Cyclops acting like tough ass douche while Rogue would be all southern attitude bitch while tossing random big men. What the fuck is wrong with Fox? I really think a reboot is needed and i repeat, that is sad because the actors did a good job IMO. I can’t replace Lawrence, Jackman, Fassbender at all…

edit: As for the last scene in X-3 thing. Yes we all have seen the last seen but they should’ve explained it anyway in this movie. We don’t see Prof X going into himself but a random dude. It really sucks that we have nothing but to apply assumptions to fill the holes that could have been cleared by a 20 sec dialogue.
