X-men: Dark Phoenix: (June 7,2019)

Maybe we should wait til we’ve seen more than ten seconds of his performance before we start judging it too harshly.

…Nah. :coffee:

New poster…

They couldn’t use survival of the fittest? Or is that phrase trademarked?

How is Xerxes outta 300 sounding more dangerous than Apocalypse?

She can’t control it.

IIRc very common phrases like that cant be trademarked easily.

Fox is very bad at marketing esp posters.

These FC posters were turrible.

An interview with the “King of Lies” (I thought that was the Joker?)

Highlights:

Marvel’s Past vs Marvel’s fu…uh…prese…uh…Marvel’s slightly later Past.

(My audio is still out, so I haven’t bothered watching the trailer, but I’d imagine I’d still be disappointed even if I had expectations in the first place given what people are saying about in the last 200 posts I caught up on.)

Anyway, that said, I’ve come to remedy another problem given that people were talking about all the great quotes that the 1992 cartoon Apocalypse said every time he was on the scene–just skip the lengthy intro:

The above has a good deal of them, in addition to some of the other versions of Apocalypse. I think it’s probably the “most” complete version, but I can’t tell without my audio unfortunately.

EDIT: Found a version with just the '92 cartoon’s quotes, though again, I can’t listen to it presently:

Perhaps it’s the less than subtle “tranny-looking Xerxes will rape you” implications 300 was throwing out as opposed to Apocalypse “just” killing you because you’re not “strong” enough. Shrug.

All I know is that the asian chick and new storm would catch this dick with the quickness.

Which Asian chick? Olivia Munn?

I think he is referring to the Jubilee actress. http://comicbook.com/2015/04/30/x-men-apocalypse-first-official-jubilee-jean-grey-photo-released/

The new Storm looks pretty good, I just wonder if they’re gonna treat the character like shit. I feel like X-Men 1 did nothing for her, X2 gave us a hint of who she was through her conversation with Nightcrawler, and X3 just skipped to her taking on a leader position (well behind Wolverine ofc).

I get these are movies where they can’t get into each character in-depth, but I wish they spent more time with each individual person. Trying to setup a shared universe would do wonders for that. Not just movies focusing on a single mutant, but movies focusing on different teams going on other smaller missions. Maybe them tackling separate missions that setup a new bigger X-Men movie with another major threat.

what does that even mean? like comic book movie style? or comics…cuz im callin bullshit if he meant comics

KING OF LIES™, maxx… Everything he said in that interview is complete bullshit.

Yeah, interviews are often up there with reviews in terms of forced bullshit.

It means that instead of being your sad self and fapping to the same old Magneto’s touch-of-death combos, you now get to again fap to the glory that is Michael Fassbender (as Magneto), even though you are your unworthy self, because Bryan Singer graciously chose to share his new masturbatory fodder with the world again. You’ll be forced to bring your own lubricant to the theaters though.

Honestly, @maxx, we went over this when I explained to you why Steve Jobs was commercially a failure in the movie thread. Did you really learn nothing? It’s about fuckability. [/Finishing the Game]

Well, Jean Grey looks fugly af

Matthew Vaughn helped bring this franchise back from the brink of death, so dude will always be given respect for that.

Hell I can’t wait for Kingsman 2, first movie was too damn good.

Matthew Vaughn ain’t got shit to do with this movie.
