Thanks. It’s also only so clean because, somehow, you can’t see the bottom (white) panel in either picture.
I’m waiting/hoping that Paradise Arcade puts out a 24mm version of their OBS-MX buttons as I really liked the way Gamerfingers felt but couldn’t deal with the plungers popping off or the rims cracking. My dream would be for someone to adapt Topre switches to arcade buttons but that’s probably not going to happen.
I’ve got like 2 thumb screws left over (came as a 10 pack -> used 8) but where I got them from still has a few more sets in stock:
EDIT: The other mod (that isn’t visible in the pictures or without disassembly) that I really like is putting JLF springs in the Start, Select and Home buttons to make it harder to accidentally hit those buttons during play.
Did you miss the lame stream? How about the relentless Twitter and Facebook posts? Well if you did… behold the Panzer VT! All of the fun building aspects of the Panzer 3 but for two
I’ve got the itch to try out a hitbox panel. on Jasen’s site they’re listed as the @RageousX Standard. Is there anything different about that I should know before picking it up? if they’re the same as this one from earlier in the thread then I think I should be good, just from the look of it. [details=Spoiler]Another fun bit of artwork on a HitBox panel with an EZ MOD KIT inside!
The difference really is he actually did the math to make the spacing just like the VLX but scaled properly. Its a pretty consistent and quality layout.
Its the only Hitbox layout I use now since its done with math and a perfect scale for the vewlix adaptation.
@Rhombustible I did an impromptu explanation of the layouts in the VLX thread here:
I’ve basically open sourced it at this point, and have been happy to provide the template for anyone who wants to use it – and Jasen has. I’m just thrilled he likes it enough to use it – I get a chance to play on stuff I had a hand in creating, and the official HitBox layout was really grating to play on.
I’ve been waiting for the PS4 design to slim down far enough to fit one inside a VLX. I don’t think it’s quite there yet, but if they do a third version with a smaller mobo, it could be viable.
thanks! I totally see the need for the re-design and I’m eagerly awaiting my order. I’m also going to try out one of these fancy/weird domed 30mm sawn buttons for the jump and see how it feels.
Not sure how many people at SRK were interested in this, but in case you were: (I always have one or two people that miss out and get mad they missed it).
Do you plan on making/releasing more MC Cthulhu boards?
Additionally, is it possible use the 20pin slot on the MC Cthulhu board in conjunction with a the VLX Brooks attachment? It would be nice just to stack them all together and not have to worry about anything other than adding a DPDT to the mix.
Coffee tables are too low for seated play.
Standard sit-down cabs have the top surface of the CP at about 28" (~71cm) from the floor; this also happens to be the standard desk/table height. Coffee tables, however, usually range from 18-20" (45-50cm) from the floor.
I’d imagine that (musical) keyboard stands (albeit sturdy ones) would probably work for the Panzer VT.
The DPDT is always used for USB switching… so… are you planning on using two cables? As for releasing more… My testing on the MCC that I have on hand show that its likely a software issue to resolve, not a hardware one. Once a fix is in place or identified, they will be available.
