oh snaps… so this is like the crossbone version of PS4?
If so, that’s dope! And this will make alot of people happy!
Sort of… replaces the stock PCB completely though since the Brook UFB has all 4 systems supported.
Art templates are posted here: http://bit.ly/JCCTE2Temps
The single ZIP has all of the different layouts in PSD format. Check out www.Tek-Innovations.com for artwork print/cut solutions and custom etched plexi. I have shared my templates with him for further customization possibilities!
Today I had to make a hard decision and bring bad news to a fellow community member and refund a PFS2 order; if I recall correctly this is the ONLY time I have ever had to do this. The metal shop I work with failed to send me all of the cases required for the Panzer 2 orders. I noticed it immediately and we worked hard to remedy the situation but alas in the hurry to get the case pressed out and powdercoated a defect was found and it had to be reworked. This ended up delaying the arrival until after I go underway for a 2 week training period which seemed, based on initial conversations with the customer, unacceptable.
Throughout this, I notified the customer early (within a few minutes of figuring it out) and thought we were going to be able to work through the issue, but the rework created a bigger problem and the customer was, needless to say, very disappointed. I don’t blame them. I won’t however, compromise my quality standards to meet a timeline. I would rather have an angry customer that gets a refund than an angry customer that gets a messed up case that I knew about.
I work hard as a single person operation to be 100% on point, 100% of the time with JCC while managing my family life, personal life, and 13 year military career. I think my track record and fulfillment record matches my mantra. When things like this happen I take it personally. I don’t like disappointing people. Could I have used a case that was from an order placed earlier to fulfill the order? Yes. Would that have been fair to make that customer who ordered earlier have to wait? No.
Why I am I telling everyone? Because I believe in transparency and being 100% honest and up front about my missteps and the actions I take to correct them.
In the end, the customer was given a full refund and I provided a $40 additional refund to offset the cost of his artwork commission. I have all of the parts I purchased for his particular build (valued over $200) in the lab where they will stay for the foreseeable future while I am in and out for training and the follow on deployment. I hope that this misstep doesn’t tarnish my otherwise good reputation in the community and we can move forward, learning from this.
@“Jasen Hicks” hey dude, looking forward to my sega panel. I have two questions though, is the sega layout lever hole lower than the stock one? also, is it further away from the buttons than the stock one? cause I tried fitting an ls40 and I couldn’t do it since the buttons wouldn’t let me. I think I could just get a different mounting plate though.
The Sega and Vewlix layout is both 59mm spaced between the center of the Joystick hole and the K1 button. In the Sega layout the joystick is also 7mm offset in the Vertical direction (i think) from the Vewlix. If the LS40 didnt work on the stock panel, I dont think it will work with the replacement.
As everyone gets their panels, please send me comments via PM or email regarding your thoughts on everything from construction to fitment, etc. I want to always be on the look out for ways to improve everything!
Finished the last Panzer of the season for a customer today. He asked for me to take a picture with it but I opted to use the military chest candy instead
eh, I can always get a type-n when you get back. thanks for the quick reply.
At work but got my TE 2 astro panel.
Shipped well everything looks intact
Excuse my ignorance but was the plexi not going to be clear?
It is clear, please remove the protective sheet on both sides. If you have any other questions, please use the support forms on my website
Ok figured that but I was fidgeting around and could not seem to find a piece to pull scratched a bit near the button holes and managed to peel up a little. Thanks for the quick reply.
got my panels, they both look at feel great, but the bolts to secure the original TE2 panel do not hold the custom panel in, as the holes are cut larger than on the original.
i also if you’re using a hori hayabusa, you have to remove the 2 extra button holder and screwdriver holder from the inside of the TE2, maybe a sanwa will fit but the hayabusa or any stick that needs lateral clearance will not fit without that being removed.
Which panel did you get? The Type-N? I’ll double check the recess openings on it and compare it to the others. I have a standard Astro in mine. I didn’t notice any issues on the prototype with mine, but if its an issue after all screws are in and the panel doesn’t stay in, Ill get you a new one. (When I get back from training in a couple weeks).
I think that going forward I am going to abandon the Madcatz Type-N layout and simply go for the standard Widened Astro spacing. Its better overall and should correct any issues putting a hayabusa in.
yeah its a Type-N. I can show some photos comparing the way the screws sit in.
that sucks about the type-n panel, that was the main reason I didn’t wanna get it but imo removing the button and screwdriver holders is not s a problem since I never use them. they both have their pros and cons though, I still can’t fit a seimitsu ls40 on the astro one and in pretty sure it would fit in the type n panel.
@Rhombustible - it seems you aren’t the only one affected. It appears that the machines may have been out a bit when they were making these. I am going to put a rework into the shop for every single panel so that I can get these replaced asap.

I dont have an LS-40. How wide is that sucker so that its causing interference?
is the problem only for the type n panel @“Jasen Hicks” ?
I haven’t checked mine since I sent it to my wife’s office but I probably will get around to checking it this weekend.

It appears its all. I have confirmed issues with Type N and Astro. I’d ask everyone to hold tight while I get this resolved. I don’t know if its select panels or all were affected as my first runs all fit perfect.
dang, that sucks. specially for you dude. I’ll check mine asap and post here if it’s all good.
