Its part of doing business. I am more concerned with making sure everyone is happy vs. the bottom line. Quality is paramount in my world.
yeah, gotta respect that. hopefully mine is fine and I donât have to return it.
Hi. Today a package arrived from ArcadeShock, with two Brook Universal Fighting Boards and two Jasenâs Customs VLX Upgrade Boards (everything pre-soldered, as I donât solderâŚ). For one of my sticks, no directions are registered, nor are 2P ,1K and 2K. All other buttons work, and I even successfully upgraded the firmware for the Brook UFB.
My tests indicate that one of the VLX upgrade boards is defective (I tested different combinations of boards, cables and controllers). Can someone please take a look at the photo? It does seem like there shouldnât be that brown detail, or the solder in the middle of ânowhereâ. (1) Could one of those explain the problem and (2) is it reasonable for me to expect-ask some random professional who works with soldering or electronics in my city to repair it? I live in Brazil, and returning items is incredibly bad (expensive and sloooooow).
Spoiler
Sorry for bringing this up here, but I thought it would be the best thread to try to find help.
Thanks!
Since you purchased it from ArcadeShock, the best route is to contact them directly for a replacement.
Based on the pictures, they are too dark to determine what/where the problem is.
Just finished testing the pre-production run of the TE2 EZ MOD that allows installation of the UFB into these sticks with ease. I think install took about 10 minutes. Iâll be posting part 2 of the install video this evening. Until then, hereâs a nice picture:
As promised. The Brook UFB installation Video (Part 2) with the Madcatz TE2 EZ MOD Kit.
Youâre making me want an XBOX One TE2 just for the red sides! (since we canât get the parts in Australia)
I had the Blue and Black PS4 PCB for a whole 24 hours before I got rid of it, the plexi was absolute rubbish, Iâve read itâs been fixed up with the TE2+ but the EZ Mod for his isnât compatible (not even sure if you have plans for it :))
OF course I have plans for that
@âJasen Hicksâ would it be worth it to make an Ez mod for a Qanba Q4raf since that was a rather popular stick, due to the existing dual mod and the nice (if small) carrying handle. Plus the Q4 has enough buttons to hook up all the PS4 buttons if you hook up the Turbo button as TPkey (except Select, which would be on the TPkey, thus Share would be unconnected), but with one of two possible options:
- âSwitchâ setting Xbox 360/PC used for ground/LS (PS3 selection on right=Ground->enables LS, X360=on left=(DP (default)), which is how I have mine set up.
- âSwitchâ option to Xbox 360 for TPkey to act as TPkey (Select on X360/PS3 mode on the UFB) and on PS3/PC position to act as Share/Select, although Iâm not even sure if that is feasible. Maybe 2) doesnât make sense.
The only issue I would forsee with your ezmod is the select button, but someone would have to strip a wire and wire select manually to a sanwa button for firmware updates, until Brook allows TPkey to be used as well as Select.
Not sure. I have never messed with anything from Qanba.
Anyone can mod their MadCatz #TE2 fight stick with a Brook UFB quick and easy with the new TE2 #EZMOD. It leaves all wiring in tact so reverting to stock is pretty quick and easy. I have 7 early adopter kits available to ship Tuesday. $40 shipped in the US. Get it now or wait until June. Want me to install it? Visit the ArcadeShock booth at EVO. I will be there installing these and other parts!

Official TE2 EZ MOD thread: The Official TE2, TE2+, TES+, PANTHERA EZ MOD Thread
Looks great! Thanks for sharing!
The TE2 EZ MOD is now available for pre-order at ArcadeShock!
The kit includes everything you need including the connectors to solder onto the Brook UFB. I am confident in the coming days a âalready doneâ kit will be made available as well and Paradise Arcade Shop will have some listed as well, though I canât say when.
Be on the look out for them at CEO this year as I suspect that at least one of the shops will be there with EZ MODs and UFBs on hand, and definitely come visit the ArcadeShock booth where I will be installing them for people on site at the Jasenâs Customs corner of the ArcadeShock booth. Looking at something super specâ for those I install during EVO that wonât be available for sale
@âJasen Hicksâ
Is there an eta of when you will return & reopen the shop? Or more specifically, when we can expect the site to be taking (pre)orders on custom panels again?
Thanks
Orders are closed! I will have some at EVO though, if you are going to be there
If there is anything left after EVO I will let folks know. My goal is to have most stuff cleared out before I am officially gone until 2017. I also am working to bring some more of my stuff to other shops to ensure a steady stream of Jasenâs Customs is available while I am gone. Not sure how that will work out between now and August timeframe, but I am working through it.
Another good note: ArcadeShock has the TE2 EZ MODs available for pre-order. They have just the board kit and a special deal for it and the UFB saving you money! Hereâs the linK http://arcadeshock.com/products/ez-mod-for-mad-catz-te2-w-brook-universal-fighting-board-package
Coming to EVO? Visit the ArcadeShock booth and visit! If you pick up a new MCZ TE2 Panel from me, you can pick up this cool art designed by Dave Silverio (aka HibachiFinal) and printed/cut by Art Hong over at Artâs Hobbies! Get it signed, doodled, or whatever you want then pop it into your TE2 for a truly custom display. #EVO2016
Just in and with all the vendors! TE2 EZ MOD boards! I think they should start shipping soon
