Bah, I’m an idiot.
I didn’t realize that you offered pre-done VLX art based on Sega panels. Serves me right for not looking hard enough on your website.
Oh well, next time.
I got them printed from Jasen directly. I knew the blemished ones didn’t offer the artwork option, which is why I decided to pay full price to allow me to do the print artwork option.
I think he only did that once IIRC (Jasen printed an extra Hayabusa 6 button panel), you’re best to follow him on Twitter/Facebook to find out the deals I believe it was discounted 10 dollars.
“…As well as the cutout”? Sorry, could you clarify that detail a bit more?
I checked your fb & the only post I saw pertaining to K sticks was a myoungshin laying atop a TE2; hah, so I’m not sure if the lead was buried somewhere in there, but it’s lost on me.
Is there any chance that a simple request can be made–be it before or after your departure a non issue–that a panel can be created that has the Astro City layout, only that the buttons are instead pushed out to that of the 95mm spacing, & now resembling that of the Type N (in this regard), instead of the now 56mm of the Astro? I ask because the joystick placement of your Type-N is too far West than ideal, & could also potentially pose space restriction problems (with the spare pushbuttons compartment) mounting Korean sticks.
So yeah, again, it’s your Astro City layout, only now having the buttons pushed out East to yield the 95mm spacing between the center of the joystick hole & the center of the “Short” button, all while maintaining the Y-height centering of the joystick hole to be exactly that of Y-height centering of the “Forward” button (which is a trait that the Type-N doesn’t inherently have as far as my understanding). Let me know if this is a possibility in the future.
The first round are being made now as shown above, and if I add more it will be a K-Panel hinted by the picture. It will be a stock Astro Layout with a K stick mount (59mm spacing).
The cutout I referred to was the stock cut out for a JLF.
If you look at the Madcatz Type N panel art template you will see that it doesn’t match anything arcade standard. The Button/Stick placement is 84mm instead of 59 or 95mm, The joystick is centered on the Y between P1/K1. I mirrored this because its what people know and requested. The 25mm shift in placement should offer a good balance between spacing and the real estate for the hands.
If I could choose, I would do everything arcade perfect because its awesome and tried and true; But the market dictates what they desire
As for custom stuff, always happy to do it… it just money to someone Finally, I am always happy to do small runs of specific things if enough interested (usually 10 or more) want/need it (so its cost effective, otherwise if you want to spend a few bennies, we can do it easily). Given the lack of desire it would seem for this run so far, I doubt there are enough people who want a certain unique layout to do them.

Interesting, I had no idea about the MCZ Type-N panels. Having never seen that panel in person, I just assumed it was the 95mm spacing. So are you stating that even your Type-N is indeed an 84mm spacing, and not the 95mm spacing?
And about a small run of custom panels, I’ll keep my ear to the ground on if & when you’re taking requests. I have a custom panel for my TE1 (that mirrors that image I linked above) that I can’t be without, & I’d love to get that recreated for my TE2+. There’s been 2 other custom panel makers that have since abandoned their projects for unknown reason, so I’m eager to work with someone who’s been established as a mainstay. The long & short of it is that I’m looking forward to commissioning a panel from you in the future, even it it may cost a bit extra.
Aw man, I have a TE2 that could use a new panel, but my priority right now is to mod my TE+ to be PS4 compatible and a hitbox layout. If only you sold panels for that =) .
