I should be taking pre-orders for Astro City, Wide Astro City (Noir) and Hitbox (RageousX style) this week. Final price is going to be $59.95 and that includes the acrylic! Acrylic choices will be either 6 or 8 button variety since the panel will have some solid art installed so I don’t need to do different metal panels for each! I intend on sending Tek Innovations my plexi/art templates (and making the PSD available on the site) for custom etched plexis and printed/cut artwork.
I’m sure everyone’s seen this already, but just in case:
The Type-N, Noir, or Wide Asto City is all the same nomenclature for the Astro City Layout with 95mm spacing instead of 59mm spacing.
Finally, the first TE2 EZ MOD is done but it won’t be released. I am working on a far better variant that will be all TE2 compatible. But for giggles, here’s a video to enjoy!
Bought a “blemished” VLX panel, and I have to say a few things:
Jasen was amazingly nice when I asked a few questions (most not even product related…)
I got shipping confirmation within a couple hours (maybe less!) on a Saturday morning and it actually SHIPPED that day. I got it Monday. Superbly packaged.
The term “blemished” is used VERY liberally here. This thing is 99% perfect. There are only two small scratches (less than 5mm in length) on the BACK of the panel. I would have been completely satisfied with this if I had gotten it as a regular purchase.
Overall quality of the panel is exceptional and professional level work. The exact same thing can be said of Jasen’s service. I will undoubtedly buy again! Here’s hoping a “blemished” auxiliary panel comes in stock ; )
Astro City the joystick hole is a bit lower than between the 1p/1k buttons, Noir is about the middle(slightly higher?) but further away from the buttons.
I can’t decide between Six or eight buttons for the type n panel. I’ve never tried a type n layout and I wanted to get the eight button one just to see how it feels. I prefer six buttons but what should I do with the extra cables in the stick? tie them somewhere?
This week. I have to get some proper photos taken and find said time to take them Having cool things that take a lot of time to make is both a blessing and a curse
Madcatz TE2 Replacement Panel Kits are not available for Pre order! Don’t miss out on these high quality panels because you waited too long. You can find the link here: http://bit.ly/TE2Panels
