Are you still planning on releasing those ps360 to db15 ribbon cable adapter boards?
@Chananigansā - I have my MK48 that I have been thinking of selling for quite some time to motivate me to build an ADCAP. I also have one Mini Cute Panel ready for a new home.
@PresidentCamachoā - Yes, I do! The first batch are being soldered up now. As with the other DB15 connectors I released they will be discounted at first because they were the beta run. They work fine, I just have a minor tweak to make on round two. Itching to get that Panzer finished up?
Hey Jasen. My stick is doing fantastic. Everyone who sees it loves it. I have the paewang in it and the kaimana all set up and working great. I was able to lube the wire inside the shaft, remove the spacer and screw hoku all of the way down in order to compensate for the difference in height that the spacer initially gave. I taped the RGBLED wire to the side a bit so that the shaft just spins around the lubed wire and it doesnāt twist at all when turned. Instead of soldering the points I used a little wire block for easy removal for when I need / want to ever make changes or do maintenance. Iām using the hori hayabusa lever with a kowal actuator and an ls-32 spring. It feels perfect and has no problems whatsoever. Iāve got everything tied down with trimmed wire ties and its nicely organized. It took me a little while to get everything working the way I wanted but now that it is I bring it to the LAN center / get togethers weekly and it is by far the most impressive stick.
For the Korean edition you were initially going to do it with gamerfinger buttons. Can you tell us why you decided against it?
Also, are you using the newer version of the PS360+ boards now? If someone wanted to get a stick with a paewang would that be a possibility? I have a friend who really loves my stick who may order one and heās no where nearly as picky as me. He doesnāt really care about lights.
Thanks again for everything Jasen. Iām glad to see your work is still as top notch as ever.
GamerFingers were too expensive and the Octogon Rims drove me nuts. The cost vs. the benefits vs. the OCD of most people made it not worth it.
The PS360+ used in the KEs and all future PFS are the newer versions of the board.
I donāt build using the Paewang. When you build as many sticks as I do, the Paewang isnāt convenient because of the soldering aspect. The flexibility of the PS360+ and the solder free installation is extremely useful, the pure multitude of consoles it works with makes it a win for me.
I get you bud. I guess there was no way to use a different housing on the gamerfingers? I didnāt like those octagonal rims either. That was a big turn off for me. That and the fact that they require more force to actuate than the sanwa buttons were reasons I never bothered to try them.
How are the xbox one solutions these days? Anything going on for ps4? Is that going to even be possible given the bluetooth authentication stuff? I want to be able to use my beautiful panzer for SF5.
EDIT: Hey Jasen - Do you still have an art guy? I may want a stick with some art. Would it be possible for you just to put a JLF on there (no spacer or anything needed) + the buttons of my choosing in the tech flex sheet with all of the wires just feeding out so I can install my own PCB? You do such a good job with getting everything in that tech flex and with my shaky hand it would be nice to have everything organized. No LEDās, no complications - just the buttons I choose and a standard JLF. If not I could just order the case with the art and go from there. Thanks.
Yeah, just pre-planning my wiring at this point. Iām quite capable of using solder cup connectors at this point, but having that ribbon cable setup seems like it will keep everything neater inside.
@Caganā
Akishop says theyāre working on a next gen solution, I suspect a plug in hardware add on. No guarantees at this point though.
Edit: just saw that the newest ps360 update re-added 8 minute ps4 support with a soft reset command that should make it quite useable for fighting games.
I do, I have a few on the site that take commissions (Purple Grimace, THML, and TruKaos). I know @d3vā also likes commissions.
I currently have 15 sticks to build between now and January 1. So I am not taking any additional builds right now. That being said I am working through a couple of channels to get harnesses made to my level of OCD through a few channels. That will likely scratch this itch @Cagan and provide some options. With my normal day job in the US Navy and this at night I have been finding new and creative ways to fill demand while keeping quality at the highest it can be. I have a tough time trusting people to execute plans the way I do so this is a huge leap for me and hopefully a benefit to those that want to just build their PFS themselves.
Iāll have to find time to swing by, my unit is going on holiday hours soon. Do you have an ADCAP pre-built one? With Cub Scout for Ronan, time is getting extremely precious, but definitely save the mini cute for me.
If you need help stick building, Iād donate some time for the cause, just need you to help me figure out why I canāt my Naomi working.
@Chananigansā - Happy to help any time. We are going into stand down starting Friday afternoon. Being the senior guy I set the schedule for when we each had to go in, so I have plenty of timeā¦ except Christmas Eve. Give me a ring when you want to stop by, ill be a little elf in the shop working
Sometime next week would be great for me, Iāll find out the schedule tomorrow and let you know.
Im just waiting for that PS360 adapter @PresidentCamachoā mentioned as soon as you have that im ordering some sleeving along with it. Cheers!
I should clarify that my statement was speculation, there are no guarantees. They might not be able to pull it off, and itās also possible that my guess (based on statements from akishop) is way off base. But letās hope it does happen.
Soon! I promise. These little guys are great.
Monday/Wednesday isnāt great. Tuesday should be perfect.
More confusion- I was talking about the speculated ps360 add on to make ps4 and xbone work properly, not the db15 adapter Jasen is working on (which is definitely happening).
Thanks Jasen. I wouldnāt be even looking into a stick for a few months so donāt worry about that. Iām happy with what Iāve got
Just about every day I go on your site, build an enclosure, add to cart, type out a long artwork description, add to cart, and exit without buying as I know I donāt need one. BUT I REAL WANT ONE. LOL
2nd on @Darksakulā
Basically if you want an arcade stick that could probably survive (unless you hit the joystick) getting run over by a car and/or need an arcade stick that you could beat someone with you should probably hit Jasen up.
@"Jasen Hicks"ā Do you do custom powder coat finished, i.e. could I link you to a powder coat site and have you give me a price for a stick in the color(s) that Iām looking at? Probably donāt need a new stick at the moment but I remember you mentioning something about this but that was a while ago and I wanted to know what the current situation was for this.
Also, Jasen, sort of building off the beating someone with a Panzer stick or a Panzer stick surviving being run over by a car have you ever considered a sort of torture test series of videos for your stuff in the spirit of āWill it Blend?ā.
