WTS: Voltech Arcade Sticks FTW!

Voltech, I send the second payment for the case. Hope it ships soon!

TheRealyst - Got the payment, thank you shipping Monday

@TheRealyst - Your case has shipped let em know when you get it.

@Jabaniz - According to the tracking you should have it very soon, Let me know when you get it.

Just picked up the metal Shells for the prototype VAS-HG’s today. 2 steel and 2 Aluminum shells cutt and bent to shape. I just need to prep them for their powder coat tomorrow. I’m going to do one black steel case and one Brushed Aluminum ie Mac style case in each size for a total of 4 cases. Sorry they are all already spoken for  I will probably make a few small adjustments since a few of the screw holes where a little larger than I wanted them and the over all size may be adjusted to 14" x 9" on the top and I’ll probably center the plexi for better clearance on the inside of the case. I’ll be working on the frame and plexi next so keep an eye on the thread. Here the link and a few pics until my next update.

Universal Height (Happ and Fanta Parts)

Sexy.

I’m madly angry at myself because when I first purchased my TE I knew NOTHING about this website… I could’ve spent a good 200 on one of these custom sticks… >_> and had everything I wanted done, did for me. =( God damn 200 retailed TE in canada! atleast my pcb has no issues with it yet.

Thanks

How long will it take to get them back from being powder coated?

Looking very nice there buddy! Have you passed on going the acrylic route, or is that still up in the air? Whichever way you go, I can see these things being a hit once you get rolling on them.

Powder coating should only take a few days depending on how busy they are. I’m looking into getting my own powder coating kit atm

I’m still working on the acrylic kit. Metal was just the first to get done.

prices yet

Voltech, I got the case. It is wonderful. When I finish it up, I will send pics.

Question though…

I know I asked that you make it able to fit a JLF and a LS-32-01, but I am curious… Would this case accept any other stick? Korean Fanta / Crown stick maybe?

Leave me some feedback, and I will do the same for you. Thanks again!

Im postive im gonna want one of these, do you need any first buyers on acrylic ones?

The short answer is yes but… it will take a bit of work because the Fanta mounts a lot different than the others. The mounting plate will mount it but the plexi top will need to be cut to 36 mm and the MDF will need to be routed deeper or you could use washers to lower the stick from underneath. The dust washer should sit around 2mm to 5mm above the plexi top (I’ve seen them even taller) it’s a matter of preference and spacing. The slimmer cases will need to have a hole cut in the bottom plexi to make room for the stick shaft as well.

P.S. I left you some pos feedback. thanks you once again

Final pricing is going to be determined soon. I wanted to keep these around the same as my last build but with the added cost of tooling the metal I’m afraid it will only go up  but not by too much ; ) Also because I’m still using domestic and exotic woods on the Elite cases those prices will vary a bit as well. Anyway this is where it looks like I’ll be (Unless I can find a way to cut the cost down) $120.00 for the VAS-HG Lite model (steel shell, MDF frame, Plexi top and bottom with painted sides, no wood trim ) 150.00 for the VAS-HG Elite (domestic wood trim, steel shell, MDF frame, plexi top and bottom) $175.00 VAS-HG Elite (Exotic wood trim, Steel Shell, MDF frame, Plexi top and bottom) This is just an estimated price as things may change if I can find a way to save money.

I haven’t been able to get a quote for the plexi work yet as I need to focus on the metal design first and iron out any kinks.

I’m doing some powder coat testing on the VAS-HG shells I have now and I will say that the powder coat is very tough stuff and hard to damage compared to regular paint but I didn’t like the results with the flat black I got at harbor freight ( can you say Orange peel) so I’m waiting on some better powder to come in any day now. Black Magic and Mercedes silver. I’ll let you know how it goes and maybe post pics of the orange peel if anybody want to see it.

Thanks a lot Voltech. I assume I have to use screw in buttons right? I dont see how else the plexi would secured. I will leave you feedback in a few.

Question on the sides: are they removeable? I was trying to figure out how careful you would need to be to paint, stain or poly the wood (or would this be something you’d do on your end?).

@ The Realyst - Yes unless you let me know in advance, then screws can be added to the top plate to hold it down. You can get away with using up to 4 snap in buttons as long as you have at least 4 screw in buttons to hold the top down.

@ spenzalii - The Metal shell is removable from the frame and can be painted separately but yes I’ll take care of that unless I decide to make some blanks down the road (Not a bad idea to keep costs down)

Ok guys I have some ideas about colors options. I think what I’ll do is offer a DIY Blank (bare metal), Black, White and Silver as the default colors and my standard pricing. There are so many cool colors available that I want to give you guys some other options. So maybe I’ll let you select a “custom color” from the site I buy the paints from. I can only do single layers\coats (So read the descriptions) until I invest in a better gun so keep that in mind when you choose. Anyway heres the link Powder by the Pound As you can see there are tons of color options and textures to choose from  What I’m thinking is if you want a “custom color” you could just pay a little extra ie the price of the paint (about $12.00) and I’ll take care of shipping (about $9.00) What do you think about that?

On second thought maybe with the custom colors it would be better if you bought the powder and just had it shipped to me. It would cut down on confusion on my part and allow me to keep the price of the cases down.
