i really like both your posts here and agree with everything you said. i just wanted to add that for sf4 it makes complete sense to use the square. but if you’re playing marvel, it’s a MUCH more execution heavy game. you’re doing a lot more joystick motions a lot faster than you are in sf4. because of this, speed becomes more important, which you gain with the circle since it’s so smooth. the square isn’t quite as fast, but it helps you be more accurate. for sf4 though the loss in speed of the square is kinda irrelevant since you rarely (or at least much less often) need that kind of speed. so choose your gate depending on your game and particular preferences. me, i play marvel mostly and i love the circle. i think it is the superior gate once you get used to the loss of corners. you just can’t match the speed of the circle gate

Well I know circles are impossible to draw and cut.
But mine is not circle enough for me.

Just wondering, how do these do with corner-specific characters? EG, SuperTurbo Cammy’s Hooligan and such. How accurate can you charge with Blanka?
I got the gate, my overall verdict is that I like it a lot! It feels quite smooth, very natural feel. If you’re someone who doesn’t have input precision problems then a circle gate is merely an “aesthetic” choice; it feels nicer to the individual that appreciates it. Now, here are my gripes (just want to be constructive)
I could tell on the left side of the gate it still felt like a square gate, I could trace a straight line up unlike the other side which is more smooth and rounded.
I feel like there’s too much throw. I was playing “in the air” without hitting the gate for a few minutes. 
I feel like the radii of the circle needs to be a bit smaller. I understand there are technical limitations if you use a square gate, you can’t cut a circle as small as what you’re cutting, haha. I wish we could have some custom circle gates that were manufactured… =( I know this is a WIP for you, I think you’re almost there in perfecting these. I will continue to look at your progress to a more fantastic gate. =) My suggestion is that you try rounding out eight way gates to make the throw similar to that of a square gate.
