Watching a jazz solo is one of the coolest things in music. I don’t want to sound like a smart ass but just to let you know they improvise as they play their solos (their making up all the notes and rhythms as they play.) You have to know quite a bit in order to improvise, like jazz rhythms, basic cords, jazz cords, etc and this is all done on the spot as the band plays backup rhythm and beats. It’s really something to think about and to appreciate.
Really?! I’ve never heard of that… But even when improvising for some reason you tend to get back into something you are comfortable with or have improvised before. Like I get into the same beats over and over even though I try to stay away from them =D.
