WTB: Sanwa Flash

Thanks for the information, man. This is the kind of stuff I needed to know. awesome !

–saved all those pictures to comp; you know…for coping at night when I wallow in despair over the reality of finding one in good shape / at all :stuck_out_tongue:

edit: QUESTION! In the pictures you’ve shown there is the black piece which protects the PCB’s solder points, and theres a yellow plastic piece that looks like an octo-gate, whats it for?

Yes, for sure Ikagi-chan.
The Yellow Dust Disc go with Shaft Cover fitting.

More laurie47 for you to see.

That is to replace the Square Insert, to make Octagonal Restrictor Gate.

If you did not know, the Sanwa GT-8F (Square Restrictor Gate) can be turn from 8-Way to 4-Way.

And so by removing that inner piece, the Yellow piece can be put in.
Making yourself a Sanwa GT-Y.

Ah now I see :] Never knew! Ty~

Lol it seems whenever I search the forums for sanwa flash, its mastu picking them all up…wtf @ matsu , dude must have like 5 !

That’s about right.

hahaha maniac ! gunna make me cry! :looney:

I’m sorry, my love of opticals greatly outweighs my concern for the feelings of others.

If you’re willing to pay $150 after shipping there is a stick with the ASCII clone floating around on eBay.

This one right?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310180623167

It does have ASCII Optical Joystick.
But then meus selling the Joystick for $110; price include shipping.

I inquired to meus about his ASCII and he gets back to PMs in 1 - 2 days… For the most part atleast… I’m waiting on pictures right now before I make purchase … I imagine meus is a very busy person.

Zeetes is selling an ASCII optical stick as well for PS2 for $150.

While i’m sure the ASCII is damn near identical to Sanwa Flash, I prefer to get my hands on latter. I know, I know, the argument there is no noticeable difference is very persuasive (I wouldn’t know) but I’d be much more content in knowing that I’ve acquired what is presumably, the top of the line in optical joysticks.

Thanks for looking out though! It is much appreciated~

Note: In no way am I suggesting that the caliber of the joystick makes the player, because that couldn’t be farther from the truth, but if adding parts, I know will add to my overall enjoyment of my custom, then i am 100% for it! I suppose that is a debate for another time ;]~

I feel you. If I was prepared to spend that much on a stick I would also want the Sanwa.

bump for that guy that has a JLHS-8Y FLASH 1? stored away and is never going to use it, and is debating within himself whether or not he should just respond to this thread and sell it off ~ To that guy!! This one is for you ~

i have one extra but it’s a spare… then again i’ve used my main flash 5 to 6 years and it’s still working. you’ll eventually find one as they appear on the trading outlet on srk every so often and you’ll most likely run into one that’s more complete than the one i just recently sold. anyway i know my bro still has a few of them awhile back. i’ll see if he is willing to part with them and get back to you guys.

ConKhi! haha wasn’t directed at you ;]~! but you know who’s first in line, if he actually is willing to part! Its nice to hear that yours is still going strong too, people have said that it has a short lifespan and thats the reason why sanwa abandoned them (rumour), but its probably what ppl have stated in this thread pertaining to sanwa + happ collaboration issues. anyways good to hear!

Monkey, so your brother has a few?
Very cool.

weekend bump ~

*i can bump this right? the bump restriction only applies to WTS i think…consulted sticky and didn’t see otherwise

Week of 16-21st bump*!

I have a ASCII flash stick I removed from a dreamcast stick. It doesn’t fit well in the HRAP i had planned to put it in. Whats your price range?

Hey thanks for the offer Ryu, but im just looking for the authentic Sanwa Flash (Sanwa JLHS-8Y FLASH 1?) , appreciate it though!

edit: added yellow meshball to title, let me know if you have one! looking for around 10$ shipped to 20008
